..like me. Whats the one game you are willing to pay full price upon release?

For me I think the only game that I really want badly enough to pay full price and/or upon release is GTA V. GTA 4 is the best game this gen in my opinion.

This. Oblivion has given me so many hours of gameplay, that I don't feel cheated for paying full price.

really? I was glad I bought GTA4 at low price, it has so many wrongs like repetitive mission structure, lack of checkpoints, and unresponsive and clunky controls.

I bought 3 new games at full price in 2010 (plenty of other new ones for $20-$30 new). Those 3 games were Red Dead Redemption, Halo:Reach, and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

you do know that when you buy games used, 100% of your money goes to gamestops pocket, (or wherever you buy them), instead spend $5 more and get the new version cause atleast the money goes to those who actually made the game.

I do buy them new most of the time I just like to get a bargain. For instance I recently got the new Smackdown game new for £18 (less than $30).

That's way cheaper than any used game of something else I might want (i.e. Black Ops) which would be more than double the price whether it was new or used.

Marvel vs capcom 3 and diablo 3. I'm not going to be buying many games at full price when I can wait a couple months and get them on sale easily.

It always depends what games are coming out around the same time as a given game, how my money situation is, and so on. I would say I buy games at full price that will give me a lot of playtime, but thats not necessarily true, as I can't hold back sometimes, like skyward Sword, it will be a first day purchase if its 10 hours or 50.

Ooh! If there was ONE game that I could buy on the first day it would no doubt be Diablo III :).

If I had to pick just one it'd be ES V: Skyrim. But there are others like Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, Killzone 3, Deus Ex, Uncharted 3, and Dead Space 2 (to name a few) that I'll likely be doing that with this year.

If I'm buying a game near it's release then I'll just pick up a new one no matter what. I'll also pre order a new game to get the CE of a game I want anyways.

This for me too, I don't support Gamestop anymore and lots of places are getting great deals. Target was selling Epic Micky new for 30, or buy LBP2 and get 20 dollars store credit. I think its awesome that they are all having these great deals.

I usually buy all my games at full price. Some of the pre-order bonuses and coupons places give you are too good to pass up.

Mass EFfect 3, only for the Collector's Edition though. I have a huge backlog of games which is why I don't buy new. I'll never play them anyway.

I got Tales of Vesperia off Amazon for $12 a month ago and it's still in the plastic wrap..

The Witcher 2 (drm-free movement is something I support 100% not to mention the first is one of my favorites) and Guild Wars 2 (I played the original to death so its a no-brainer purchase).

RDR fixed most of the problems GTA4 had. The controls were tight and responsive, it had checkpoints, and for the most parts, it had great missions. The open world stuff was more tight in RDR to a lot of extent as well.

I'm pre-ordering my Epic edition (or whatever they decide to name it) Gears of War 3 edition this year. I also get a lot of Arcade Games on launch -- like Breach, which I'm getting on the 26th for 1.200 msp.

you can buy new games just after release much cheaper if you find the right places, sometimes just to keep sales up after release you'll see it dip maybe $20-$30 for a weekly sale before it goes back up to full retail price, so you can buy a new copy of recent released title for significantly less, getting a copy of some game for $40 new instead of $55 used sounds better to me

Skyward Sword

Skyrim

The Last Guardian

Dragon Quest X

Tales of Graces

Dragon Age 2

Infamous 2

Twisted Metal PS3

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Rune Factory: Oceans

Those games are instant first day buys for me, and I don't even need to watch previews and hear opinions from the so-called "experts" about them.

I always try to buy games new to support the developers. However, sometimes I will wait for a price drop, and only buy used if its a game I can't get new anymore (Like Little Kings Story because the dev went under)

theres where we disagree, rdr was clunky and the controls were anything but good, luckily the dead eye mechanic alleviated some of the frustration. and i think ur forgetting a lot of the missions were really not fun at all, sure there were some decent ones (even gta4 had some, bank rob mission anyone??) but for the most part most missions werent that great in either game, neither came close to the variety and level of fun san andreas had,not close.

i still say there was more to do in gta4, i had more fun it in then rdr,but that aint saying a whole lot. both games are a serious step down from previous gta games, which are obviously some of the greatest open world games ever

You know what happens when you buy a new game at Gamestop? The exact same thing that happens with used games. Gamestop buys the new games themselves and then they sell it. That's why companies always talk about the number of units shipped, because that means they already got the money for it.

Wasted my money buying so many games on first day only to see them take a huge price cut a few months later. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy Killzone 3 on day one assuming a few other people I know do the same.

The only games I will buy on the release date are usually role playing or strategy. Because these are the ones you are almost certain to get ur money's worth. Now if u are in to multiplayer, maybe shooters then, but i hardly ever go that route, with the exception of Team Fortress. Also, I would rather buy a gamethat has been out for a while, so I can get a discount. I mean there are so many good games, but there arent that many worth $60 in my opinion. Just wait for prices to go down.I only buy really good games for high dollar, like Fallout 3(GOTY edition) or Civilization V(my last one). Cheers

I gladly paid full price for a lot of games over the years, such as the God of War series, Gears of War 1 & 2, GTA 4, Ratchet & Clank series, Elder Scrolls 4, Fallout 3, most Super Mario titles.

There are a lot of games worth full price if people just bothered to check reviews, for me an 8 out of 10 and up is a definite worth full price, 7.5 and up warrants playing the demo before buying.

For example i'm currently following the Two Worlds 2 reviews and so far on Metacritic it's at an 8 out of 10 by 8 reviewers thus far, i will check once more tomorrow night before going to buy it on release day.
