Tomb Raider on PS4 looks like crap

I don't think anyone has said it's really worth it, unless I guess you lack a PC and you want the pretty version on your PS4/X1.

The game was never graphically impressive. I just recently played it on PC and there's nothing appealing in the graphics department. Her face looks as clean as an anime character too.

This is pretty much the least that your basic "low end gaming PC" that can max out a game like Tomb Raider @1080p is going to cost you(and this is assuming you get good deals on the parts):

Video card $130

HDD $60

CPU $120

Mobo $70

RAM $60

DVDRW $25

Case $65

PSU $40

That's $550 right there + tax, so more like $600.

He could go cheap on the case and Windows key. But he already admitted that he's not maxing it at 1080p/60fps

o yes $5-$10 but to get the top maxed out graphics your'll need to buy a pc which costs 700+

We usually don't count windows in the cost of a PC. For example I get W7 for free from uni, then again I get W8 for free from uni. Most people have an old windows version(like vista) laying around, Also key generator for windows is also a valid option.

As you can see there are number of ways you can get windows without paying, On the other hand on consoles you can't cut the cost, you have to pay $400 (for the console) and $350 (7 years PSN fee)

Graphics look better than PC but yeh they messed up on the face. Who cares anyway, its not like the game is good.

First of all, saying you don't count the cost of Windows because you can pirate it with a "key generator" is like saying you don't count the cost of the GPU because you can steal it from the store.

And no, most people don't have an old version of Windows laying around. Even if they have an old HP or Dell that has Vista or Windows 7 already installed on it, they can't use it with their new build anyways because OEM versions of Windows are linked to only work with the CPU/motherboard they're originally installed on.

Your $400 PC cannot run this maxxed out. My gtx680 had some trouble...

Sonny, TressFX was primarily created for AMD cards. It runs like shit on Nvidia.

PC games - cheaper, more quality put into them, superior rendering effects, smooth 60FPS, 1080p native unless it is a flash game lol.

Why is it that many of you are saying the game isn't good? It's the best Tomb Raider since the second on PS1.

In regards to the PS4 version, I'm waiting for a price drop. I have the PS3 version still and won't pay $60 for a game I already own. I still plan to pick it up as I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the sequel more though.

my PC have better gpu and lower cpu and still 99% gpu usage vs 40% cpu usage

in truth i got 44fps with all max +fxaa

i cant undertand ps4 being 30fps with lame visuals, only explanation is that M$ bribed another developer to make both x1 and ps4 versions identical ,just like they did with need for speed rivals

Now that vids are popping up and clearly showing that the PC version remains the true definitive version (by a large margin I might add), you are in shock considering you were one of the ignorant console kids screaming, yelling, and popping the champagne much too early. You would have to be half blind or delusional to think the pc model looks better from a technical standpoint. The rest of the graphics you are judging are being seen off IGNs badly compressed video footage, Nobody but delusional fanboys could say one version looks better then the other by that horribly compressed footage. It would be impossible for you to tell what settings the ps4 matches by that video but I guarantee you it will be above medium.

The XB1 is 1080P native 30FPS as well, so no. lol!! Stop trying to blame XB1 for PS4's shortcomings. lol!!

@blackace: How are people judging texture quality by a video with that much compression? I expect the ps4 and x1 version to be near identical although it wouldn't surprise me if the ps4 does run better.

I can believe no one is going to pay $60 for it. Especially after the awful changes they made to the character.

I don't get why they added TressFX in. The removal of that one feature alone probably could have allowed them to hit 60fps, and it's probably the most useless graphical feature in the game imo. I'd take 60fps over whispy horsehair that reacts poorly to physical objects any day.

Ill wait till the price drops to around $20-$30.

If you missed out and dont own a gaming PC.Lara from ps3/360 looks like a plastic doll compared to the DE.I knew going into next gen PC games will still look better maxed . I dont get why anyone would think different.
