It was made a rule by the mods after a vote was taken and Gamespot was decided. You can use other sites, but then you would be wrong.

My opinion > Gamespot's opinion > Your opinion > the poster below me's opinion > etc.

What matters most if your own opinion, Gamespot scores are there but shouldnt be held as fact. I'm not big on stating review scores as fact.
