There's a lot of quality games, but not enough time to play them, this is unfortunate. It's probably why I have a backlist that grows and grows. I have every intention of playing them, if I had the time to do so. What makes it worse is sometimes you play something you can't put down and then you can't get to your backlist and it makes it worse.

Overall, I agree, too many games, not enough time to play it. I think people are finally beginning to agree to some extent. I never see people gripe anymore that this generation has offered them nothing.

I'm currently playing Zelda and my PS4 is collecting dust. The amount of games I want on PS4 is piling up. Nier Horizon Dragon Quest Heros 2 Nioh Gravity Rush 2 Tales of Berseria Persona 5. I Think I'm just going to save my money until black friday. I'll probably get all of them for half price.

It's not that there's too many games - it's that people buy to many games.

I hear allot on these forums about people with multiple gaming platforms and dozens upon dozens of games that they never get round to playing.

I think that regardless of a person's income they'd be better off just buying what they really need/want/have time for.

Otherwise I suspect that having a huge backlog sort of becomes like a chore and the irony is they end up playing nothing because it all just seems so daunting and overwhelming.

So personally I'm currently just sticking with pc-gaming and really trying to make the most of my purchases. And I just have to let go of the need to be an "expert" on all the latest games - because let's face it - who has the time?

I finally finished Horizon and I'm in no rush to turn my Switch into a paper weight so I'm taking my time with Zelda. Mass Effect is pretty disappointing so I might not even finish it. That leaves Neir and P5. Oh and Torment. 3 games. Not bad. Worst case they get finished during the summer drought.

For a short while I did try to be in the game and play everything current ... the thing is I felt stress and i also played many game that I just plain didn't like.

Since I only play what I want and take my sweet time. Like I just started Horizon on PS4 after getting the plat for Final Fantasy XV. I also haven't started The Last Gardian and Persona 5.

Anyway I have the time because the only other games on my radar for this year is Danganronpa V3 and South Park.

@FLOPPAGE_50: you seem to waste a lot of money on shitty games. If you have 81 games waiting to be installed, why wouldn't you spend a bit of that money on a quality system like the PS4 instead of wasting money on shittier versions of them for the bone?

Technically, you can be moderated if you bump an old thread that hasn't had a post in two weeks.

I know that this topic is repeated, but it's never not applicable.

Why would I give up playing FFXIV, CS:GO and Baldurs Gate 2: Enchanced/Divininity Original Sin ... for some games that are now £45 a pop that are likely just flat out worse?

I want to play Nier... Nioh and Breath of Wild.. but whats the rush? who the hell cares?

Imo the only time-sensitive games are Multiplayer games...

Because CS: GO is a bad game.

I feel like CS: GO is literally popular based on hipsters playing it. CS: GO is a bad game, it's a painfully boring game with little to no replay value unless you like watching paint dry.

In my opinion there is never too much to play. Buy it and get to it when you feel like it... like a book. I have a lot of "books" tucked away for a rainy day, and you never know when you might find your next favorite story ;)

I'd rather have "too much to play" than "not enough" any day. Now.. I feel I have enough (however, never hurts to have more), but this gen has still been completely underwhelming.. as was last. There have been some gems, but without my backlog from all my other consoles I wouldn't be satisfied with just this gen alone. At least not yet.

My problem is I buy more games than I can play. Now is currently a dry spell for me, since there's nothing new coming out for a while that I'm interested in so I can catch up on my backlog.

I find that after I finish a long single player game I want to play something less involved. I finished Horizon: Zero Dawn and got the Platinum. The last PS4 game I was playing before that was For Honor, but I haven't felt motivation to go back to it, so now I'm back on my PC playing a lot of Killing Floor 2 and occasionally Black Ops II. I just bought Dishonored 2 because it was on sale on Steam and literally just bought 2 more PC games (Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and White Noise 2, neither of which I've tried yet).

For me the ebb and flow is that I'll get addicted to a single player game, take my time with it, then once I've gotten everything I want out of that game I shut my brain off and just play multiplayer games for a while till the next thing grabs my attention. I get so invested in stories and worlds that it's nice to take a "casual" break and just focus on shooting people in the face.

I'd rather be in a situation where I have too many games, than be in a situation where I have too few.

Yes. It's called modern gaming.

I gave up trying to "keep up" about halfway through the 360/Wii generation. Steam Sales are awful.

Now I concentrate on picking out of the backlog, and only buying games I have a true interest in seeing through to the end.

My backlog keeps growing because of all the good PSN sales. Though I usually finish games I pay full price for quickly.

Can't keep up anymore and truthfully not feeling like I want to be THAT connected to the hobby where I've played everything in lue of being active elsewhere in my life.

That said, this generation I call the bargain bin generation. Makes the most sense to let the games drop in price while developers finish making them...

I hardly have regretted any of my day 1 purchases this gen except maybe 3 out of the 60 something day 1 purchases I've made

Only because I replay my old games. If I stopped doing that, then I would likely have no problem. I dont spend much time playing online, and generally don't play big time sinks like Witcher or Fallout.

i have a backlog also. Not sure how many games exactly but it must be over 50 games almost now.

This is why i'll never have to buy a console, i can't even keep up to playing PC games, last thing i need is some random low quality exclusive console games.

It's likely i could get through 3/4 of the games in the log and play them a few hours and move on, most probably aren't good enough to finish all the way through.

Steam sales, plus those found in GOG, Humble Bundle, and occasional deals to be found on Origin, makes this very prevalent. My backlog continues to grow.

Same. Considering the amount of games I have, I'd be busy for the rest of my life even if I never purchased another title.

Don't be silly. Console exclusives are some of the best games of all time. If you don't have time or inclination fine, but don't pretend Zelda, Bloodborne and The Last Of Us are "low quality".

I feel bad that this is a syndrome that PS fans will never have to deal with.

@FLOPPAGE_50 said:

Yup, stated on a different thread, I have 52 XB1 games installed, 81 waiting installation.. and about 6 games still wrapped up that I bought at Best Buy that I havent even attempted to install.

"bbut teh xxboxx hazz no gaymesszz"

who knows if I'll ever power through these, right now I've been hooked on Alien: Isolation.

I had so many games in my "waiting to install" that I hid them all for now (OCD). I am so damn far behind on Xbox One games right now. I have to finish Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Recore, Forza Horizon 3 and Dead Rising 4 from the past 6 months, on top of multiplats, and on top of the couple games that are on PS. I am not complaining though.

I'm very calm, but it's still absurd to claim that every console exclusive game is "low quality". You'd have to dismiss hundreds of awesome games on dozens of systems going back decades. Mad.

If someone said every PC game was low quality you'd laugh in their face. It's a silly generalisation.
