Theres way too many rpg games and rts and not enough original/quality first person shooters...it's all just cliche war shooters.

Honestly there is too many cliche anime crap rpg games and stuff and rts.

No quality fps games...just a bunch of subpar crap.

There is no quality fps games for pc right now atleast.

Pretty much sums it up.

However, things seem to be looking up lately for the U.S., an agreed bailplan has been set and just needs to be transferred into paper and officially voted on by the House first, and then the Senate.

However, I agree with the lack of orginality/quality of FPS, they just seem to get more and more lame every few years. Uncharted was a bit refreshing, but not enough to fill my needs of something completely new.

However, RPGs...are iffy. I personally haven't been interested in the recent RPG releases, and RTS happen to bore me. I don't pay attention much to those genres.

RPGs have been lacking this gen, the only ones I've enjoyed were ME, The Witcher and NWN2. So I wouldn't say there are too many of them. Unless you count MMORPGs and jRPGs too, but I don't.

Strategy genre is just fine. There are lot of them, but they manage to be quite different, varying from massive scale RT4X(SOASE) to action focused RTT(CoH, WiC) to traditional RTS(CnC3) to games that just do things differently otherwise(TW, SupCom). Not to mention all the TBS. I would say strategy has been the strongest genre in quality this gen.

I agree with not enough original shooters. Stalker and TF2 are the only ones I've managed to get into this gen, others have just gotten a big 'meh' from me.

... 2008 is definately a great year for gaming :|. How do Fallout 3, FarCry 2, Gears 2, Fable 2, LittleBIGPlanet, Prince of Persia, Crysis Warhead, Resistance 2, plus all the amazing games that already came out this year = complete crap?
