Yeah that's what I like so much about independent games, they're very niche. There truly is a game out there for everyone and at the same time no one (relatively speaking).

I can see Frostpunk doing well, it's very grid-based (but broadly so) so you don't need fine control as with most city/management games like this.

actually it has far more, and far more varied exclusives than your console. budget, hype and marketing does not equal whether a game is actually good.

plus, PC gamers aren't poor so they are buying consoles and playing those games anyways. The only thing we have to "cope" with is the shitty frame rate these console exclusive games are shackled with.

in the real world, people don't decide what games they play based on how high of a budget a game has, or whether or not its even exclusive.

PC gets the highest number of high quality games, with more variety than any console-only player could dream of.

Then the first game you mention is a AAA big budget game. On that note I actually agree with you I'm currently playing Odyssey as well, I don't think it's one of the best games I've played but Alexios is about the best protagonist the series has had since Ezio and he makes a seriously entertaining game. (Kassandra is just Alexios with in a woman skin and a completely pointless addition).

Your words above "more Indie garbage" and then say you intend to play indie games. There are several excellent games in the OP's list, not all of them are my choice of game nor would I play them but to blanket them all as "indie garbage" is completely wrong.

This thread is specifically about Indy's, so bringing up big budget games is a total straw-man.

But I'm not sure why you would even do that, as no single console even gets the same amount of big budget games as PC (due to console exclusives and emulation). So Cows have arbitrarily narrowed the generation library lists to big budget exclusives that aren't TBS, F2P, or MMOs. Nothing else counts. Because people apparently only play 3-4 short single-player games every 8 years.

It's becoming ludicrous at this point with their fake rules.

I've been keeping an eye on a few games, for a while now ... honestly i don't know if they are on console as well...

There are good indie games but most of the indie sensation has come about due to regurgitation and plagiarism of ancient 2D games and/or games with incredibly low production values which some people including reviewers see as a plus (wtf??) and that's something I absolutely don't support and if it winds up some of the indie hipsters on here I make no apologies they can **** off too.

Frostpunk is on my wish list, waiting for a good sale. Never heard of the rest though.

I really hope some of these awesome indies come to the Switch, kind of like what happened with Into the Breach.

@GarGx1: if that's what an indie game is football manager should not be on that list as sports interactive were aquired by sega back in 2006.

I've played Frostpunk and BattleTech and they were good to great game.

Also kinda interested in Two-Point Hospital as it's the spiritual successor of Theme Hospital.

Except for the game of the gen though, RDR2. But I'm sure indies will fill that void for you hermits, LOL!

"Game of the Gen" will come to PC in 6-12 month and that's not enough time for me to finish all these game

I had more fun with COJ gunslinger than entire original RDR1. if RDR doesnot had western setting. it would be another boring open world game.

and the setting is exactly why im waiting for RDR2 on PC which 101% sure is going to released.

otherwise if gunslinger 2 announced today. i would be more hype for it.

indies do not spend the money on advertisements and bribing video game journalists

thing is, a lot of indie titles on the PC are not well designed for console and often times porting them to console is just an afterthought. so the controls may not be ideal, depends on the game of course

Think I lasted 22 minutes on obra dinn before I got steam refund. Such a terribly boring game that has overwhelmingly positive reviews. Not my bag at all.

Lost Wing however is an indy game worth mentioning.. Think I've sunk over 60 hours into that because I wanted 'just one more go'

That's my understanding of what an independent developer is and if Sega own the I.P. rights to Football Manager then I'd say it's not strictly an indie title.

To be honest I couldn't care less if a game is "indie" or anything else, if it looks like something I'd enjoy then I'll buy it. A lot of the time aesthetics and graphics will put me off a game but I won't tar all games not made with a AAA budget as "indie trash" like others in here.

case in point, best 1st person crappy graphics game I have ever played. (understand 'crappy graphics in first person' is a qualifier in what I am showing). I say this because the details of assembling a car is really immersive and controlling the game is nearly a mini-game in of itself

@tryit: That looks like a really in depth game that can probably teach a thing or two about mechanics. Sure it would probably look a lot nicer if it was made in Unreal Engine but I think depth is probably more important that aesthetics.

The cost of my PC has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Witcher 3, Half Life 2, Pillars of Eternity... I've played all of these games. Not a single one of them is pure trash in 2D trying to 'emulate' what I played on console 20 years ago.

I already listed games I'm playing or have queued up to play that could never be described as AAA but as you're an ignorant asshole who doesn't even read the posts in the thread he's replying to you missed it.

Indies where its at. Triple A are now rehashed cinematic experiences if you are into that kinda thing. But we get that too quite often. Buy it for your console, play it once and put it away forever.
