[QUOTE="dabear"][QUOTE="msoftburney"]:? I thought Brute Force was a fantastic game.jg4xchamp
I like Brute Force as well. Problem is, it was supposed to be a franchise equal to Halo - Brute Force is nowhere near Halo.
What I find so funny is that as bad a Brute Force flopped (it got an 8 in here, but was hyped 9.5), Killzone flopped a lot harder and didn't sell as many copies, but Sony seems determined to make KillZone a franchise.
Killzone did good in sales if im not mistaken. If I remember correctly, Brute Force sold a million copies at launch. I know it broke Halo's (the first Halo) sales record. As word got out of it's mediocrity, sales tapered off.
Killzone was as hyped as Killzone 2 is right now. Did the end product deserve the hype?I dont see why killzone 1 got such a bad review. I played the gae at a frieds house not that long ago, and despite a few bugs, it was ok. I only played a few levels but the action was good and it was quite varied with taking out tanks and stuff. Plus the reloading animation was cool to watch, the weapons were interesting and it was fun to play. Its made me even MORE hyped for KZ2!!!!
Haze and lair did not have much to do wuth sony. Haze suprised me though as it came from the guys who made TS3, an AAA title. and lair could have been great, its a technical masterpiece, bt they got the controls and gameplay wrong.
NinjaMunkey01
Haze and Lair were hailed as "must have system sellers" for the PS3, according to Sony's own commercials. Both flopped hard.
Yet most cows blame Nintendo for third party shovelware on the Wii.Not like it's Sony's falt that Lair and Haze flopped so hard.
NFS102
This list is bull. The original Xbox had waaay worse/more dissapointing games than ANYTHING on that list. Fable is a good game, but was nothing near Peter Molyneux's dream. A dissapointment. Drake of the 99 Dragons. KABUKI FUQING WARRIORS.TheKindred
No one hyped Drake of the 99 Dragons or Kabuki Warriors. To be on that list, those games would have to by hyped as AAA.
I loved Shadows of the Empire :(.Cooldude224
Same here. And, honestly, I think Lair was the biggest console exclusive flop of all time. Sure, the first Killzone had that title for years, and that may be why we are so reluctant to take it away. But it was at least playable and had an interesting premise.
Agreeable list..
but killzone on #1 is a bit harsh imo
killerfist
If the posters leading up to Killzone did not have the tagline "Sony's Halo Killer is Coming..."
Then I would agree.
What a terribly biased list. Haze wasn't even hyped enough to be that much of a disappointment. Fable should be up on that list if anything...Amnesiacx
Haze was not hyped? Are you for real?
What is with Cows having selective memory as of late?
As for Fable, It scored 8.6 here, 9.4 at IGN, and an 85% average at Game Rankings.
Haze is rocking a 57% at GR and Lair is rocking a 55%, Killzone is rocking an ok 73% but still a little bit off the mark of being "a Halo Killer" as Sony's marketing posters promised.
You can add Ninja Failden 2 too that list. god thats such an abortion. What was Itagaki thinking.SwiftDragon616
Games like Killzone, Haze, and Lair that score in the in the six's or in lairs case the fours's are real flops,
Games like Ninja Gaiden that are scoring the 8's and still scoring higher then most PS3 exclusives are not.
Till PS3 gets a Kameo killer on its exclusive roster, mocking an AAe when that is all PS3 has is one of the most foolish things I have seen yet on SW.

That's what I was thinking. Ninja Gaiden 2 will probably outscore any worthy PS3 exclusive, but the cows will jump on it;. Gotta love it, lol.
Star Fox Adventures is my favorite Star Fox game. I loved its new direction. :(BioShockOwnzIt was the first Star Fox game I have played, 2nd one was a Star Fox Assault Demo, and then Star Fox 64. I loved Star Fox Adventures.

If Ninja Gaiden II scores say an 8.5 its will be outscored by only a single PS3 exclusive game, and if Ninja Gaiden is a flop then what is Uncharted?

Thanks for dealing with that comment, I was about too when I seen your post.
Sadly I can't go to that site here at work but wondering if Warhawk was on the list. I remember reading some bad reviews for it. I don't believe it tripped and burned like Lair did but still was a disappointment. Also, is that dragon game that was supposed to show off the six-axis on there? I remember the dev and sony have a huge fit about that game when reviews showed how horrible it was.Sins-of-MosinWarhawk was not a disappointment it did everything that was expected of it and it was a great game. Not sure where you read those bad reviews....

Wha!? That was my favorite level, despite being ridiculously long. Fixed:? I thought Brute Force was a fantastic game.msoftburneyThe media hyped it as the next Halo after Halo 1 and it came up very short. Its the only game I got to the last level of and got board and never bothered finishing.
[QUOTE="NFS102"]One could argue that Sony's inability to develop a console in which is developer friendly is the reason a lot of Playstation 3 games fall short. Not like it's Sony's falt that Lair and Haze flopped so hard.
msoftburney
And one would be unbelievably wrong. If you know you can't develop on it, and you have no confidence in your product (I'm saying REAL confidence, not that fake "LOL BUY MY GAME" confidence so many stupid developers have), don't even bother developing.
In the end, someone will ALWAYS BLAME SONY. Sony could have NO involvement in a game and they'd get blamed for it all.
Sony is never praised or is in the right, ever. If a game completely owns on PS3, and Sony has involvement, it's all the devs credits.
It's never "Sony made a wicked console, awesome!"
It's always "Sony's fault for having a difficult console!!!!!" Like everyone in this forum is a developer, right? Some of you don't even know basic HTML, shut up.
Nobody credited Sony on the Phyre engine, I'd bet half of you don't even know what it is, because half of you just care about the negatives.

I had to leave it on pause the second time through because I needed to go to school. When I got back I kicked the crap out of bobba fett
I liked Brute Force, I'd pick Brute Force 2 over Gears 2 if it existed on the 360 :?
I think Lair should be #1

I really don't give a crap what people on these forums hype a game. I have enough of a life that I don't sit on these forums 24/7 calculating the hype for each game by the given members of this forum. But TELL ME did any of the devs of Haze EVER claim it to be a revolution in FPS gaming? Because I sure remember Peter Molyneux's INSANE HYPERBOLE when talking about Fable. If you went by Peter's hyperbole everyone would have expected Fable to score a 10 and a half. The game was barely worth a score of 8. An RPG that you could beat in less than 10 hours?
And why is it that EVERY SINGLE GAME on this list is an exclusive of some platform? Surely there have been multi-platform games that have been more disappointing than half of the games on this list *cough Assassin's Creed cough*. Further proving my point that this list is terribly biased. Amnesiacx
Um...top 10 console exclusives? Assassins Creed was multiplat. On another not, i actually enjoyed the game a lot, i wouldnt put it in my top 10.
I liked StarFox Adventures. They should put Red Steel instead.m_machine024
[QUOTE="Sins-of-Mosin"]Oh, haha, thanks for helping me out there. I think I had Lair and something like Heavenly Sword mixed up?Kansrite
Yes, lair is terrible. Since you can't go the the site here is the list.
10. Ninty-Nine Nights
9. Brute Force
8. The Bouncer
7. Perfect Dark Zero
6. Blinx
5. Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
4. Starfox Adventures
3. Haze
2. Lair
1. Killzone
Brute Force was hella awesome and The Bouncer was a good game for being what the 1st or 2nd game for the Ps2
i never played the original killzone...izzit really that bad?joeychew
No not really. I like the game alot actually. I say if your curious you should buy it. Its pretty cheap now.

LOL read the NAME of the list. You sound like an idiot no offense lol. Killzone should not be there and Star fox shouldn't be there. Star fox was excellent and killzone was decent. Haze was a love it or hate type of game. I personally thought it was decent. Also why should you people bring up review scores? Are you saying other peoples opinions on a game are better then your own? I swear people these days are brainwashed. MGS4 can get a 1 and I'd buy it because i love the series. If Gears 2 gets a 10, I would still be skeptical of buying it because the first one was kind of boring(single player) for me. Mass Effect could have scored a 2.0 and I would've still tried it out and after i tried it i bought it because its an excellent game.
I'm an idiot because I overlooked the title of a thread I haven't checked in a couple days? Sue me. Enjoy the suspension for clear insults of other users though.
