1. Killer combo? New word... Who needs a killer combo? One game is enough to get the things running. And let that game be Halo 3!

2. I have no statistics here, so that may be true, but I still see a lot of signs which have been standing here for years: 'We still have the PS3!'.

well i just got xbox live to start working an i am a in an utter state of euphoria. Quite frankly i don't care about how well the ps3 does anymore, and sales? Unless another console is utterly dominating in sales (like 100 million units to 1million units) than it's really not important once you buy it. Well again whatever once i get bioshock and halo3 i will be pretty much set this gen. I may rent a few games but other than that i am well, set.

You mention Bioshock and ME as not being system sellers but say the opposite about the new sony franchises...Upcoming PS3 announcements? What makes you think MS is just sitting around doing nothing? Tey already said they have something big planned for the 2 year anniversery of the 360 (last year was movie and TV show service)....

No it did not outsell the 360 in June. The PS3only sold 98,000 while the 360 sold 198,000.And the July numbers have not been released yet but you are right that it will more than likely outsell the 360.

Here are my responses:

1. True, but just Halo 3 is better than nothing. And the PS3 isn't launching a game that will stand up to Halo 3 in terms of sales and fanbase.

2. True on Japan, Europe is more up for grabs. But more and more, the real killer games are coming from the west anyway.

3. Not everyone likes any game. But more people like Halo than like any one particular PS3 game.

4. Total speculation. And that is doubtful...

5. You may be right, as they are both GOTY, but no one knows about em yet. But once ME gets exposure, it could be a breakout hit.

6. Ratchet is the only big name you listed. The rest are new IP's (Warhawk 1 is so old, you can't even count it as a sequel). They may have mass appeal, but who is to say they will and Mass Effect won't? And none of them have the appeal Halo has.

7. The PS3 is more stable, but due to the warranty, many consumers likely won't care. This may be the biggest issue for MS though. It could be a potential big-time problem.

8. Again, speculation. MS announcements may be just as good if not better.

9. Nope. 1st Quarter 08. Konami said so.

10. PS2 is outselling almost everything, and that isn't exactly transferring to PS3 sales. If anything, the fact that the PS2 is still releasing good games gives their consumers less of a reason to upgrade at this point.

No it did not outsell the 360 in June. The PS3only sold 98,000 while the 360 sold 198,000.And the July numbers have not been released yet but you are right that it will more than likely outsell the 360.

Halo will crush all that PS3 has along with its version of Madden and GH3, Wii will come and share the reigns with SmashBros and Mario, and DS will take the scraps with Zelda on DS. The rest of the titles (Bioshock Mass Effect HS Lair Metroid etc etc) will do well, but not anywhere NEAR what the TRUE blockbusters are going to do.

Jan of 08 the press is going to relentlessly slam the PS3 for bringing up the rear two consective christmas seasons. Its going to be insane.

I would bet my account, which took me years to get to level 28, that the PS3 does not outsell the 360 completely by Christmas time. There is absoloutely no way. There's no system seller driving the PS3. MGS isn't even considered a big system seller. What do you think will move units? Uncharted? Warhawk? LAIR? Haze? Heavenly sword? No, no, no, no and no. Those are not system sellers.

The only way that the PS3 could pass the 360 in total userbase is if SONY suddenly drops the PS3's price to an ungodly low $250 or less because no game coming out this year will move PS3s. And you're point of the 360 being hurt by GTA4 not being there, look at the other side. The PS3 not getting GTA4 was the worst thing that could happen to the PS3. It was the only system seller all year and now it's slipped into 2008.

8 million total? No game is "hardcore", it's how you play them. Super Smash Bros is can be labeled as casual, but there are plenty of people who take it to the professional level. I have had WoW since it was released, my highest character is 57 0_o. That's called casual play. I play counter-strike on a hardcore level, and compete in leagues.

I have a feeling Heavenly Sword will mostly be played casually.

Gran Turismo 3 sold 15 million copies on the ps2, how is Halo dooming the PS3 by selling half as many?

PS i own all three consoles and love my ps3 the second most. I hate to sound like a leming, but i also hate cows who have no logic or reasoning of basic marketing, processing units and propaganda.

If anything Bioshock makes me want to sell my PS2 and buy a 360 Today.
