Agree man Metro Exodus is a meticulous game with great graphics and design. It has it's age old gaming flaws and might not feel as smooth control wise. But for those who can look past that and really want to feel immersed in an atmospheric world this is it.
Also, I feel Assassins Creed Origins is overlooked because of the bad rep Ubisoft games get. I feel Origins gets it right, missions feel varied and exploration rewarding. The skill tree and gameplay elements it unlocks make you be able to approach missions in endless ways. That paired with very artistic and technically proficient graphics, a mystical story in Egypt and you have an RPG that is close to being the best of this generation.
I love how slow Metro feels to control: you need to charge your flashlight, clean your gasmask, put in a new filter... like every action in the game requires you to think about it. It's not just about killing demons, it's about surviving in a rough (and foreign) land.
I often see people roll their eyes when it comes to Assassin's Creed. But Origins really refreshed and renewed the franchise:
-Stuff that was automated before now requires some player interaction. No more checking your minimap for countless icons. Now you have an eagle that can scout for you. A minor chance, with major consequences
-Stealth got improved massively, it got overhauled from "hiding in the bushes" from AC4
-Combat got improved massively. Going back to older AC games feels like a massive downgrade.
And don't even get me started on the setting. Ancient Egypt? ... Built with the help of historians and real maps? I had so much fun exploring Alexandria and literally every nook and crany in that world. Side quests felt meaningful, you were doing actual tasks for people, you actually acted like a medjay. I had so much fun doing all the side quests in Origin and they were such a huge step up compared to the previous games.
10/10 game.
