Top Cow announces Darkness sequel in the works

Forgive me but I had to :lol: at the title of the story. :P

Anywho, I borrowed and played maybe about 3/4 of the way through the first Darkness but me thinks from that, a sequel would be quite nice - you interested?

The Story,

Here's a great indicator of how slowly the wheels can occasionally turn. During Top Cow Productions' Comic-Con panel, head of the comic publisher, Marc Silvestri, was finally able to announce that a follow-up to The Darkness(based on the Top Cow IP) was in the works. We're not surprised if the news has a familiar ring to it: The company hinted at a sequelduring the 2008 NYCC ... 15 months ago.

In more immediate news, the company announced that the original game would soon be added to the greatest hits value line-up on PS3 and Xbox for $29.99. If you haven't already checked it out, it's an interesting recommendation, if only to prepare yourself for the sequel that may finally be coming.

An excellent narrative driven first-person title with some superb character development, which is rather unique for the genre.

That game was a rare gem, I enjoyed it from start to finish, was about 5 hours,

It had a pretty interesting protaganist and antagonist, and a hell of an ending imo.

Can't wait for the sequel :D

1st one was great so this is good news. i hope they fix the multiplayer lag though coz the first one had interesting MP

Can't wait :D.The Darkness is the best sleeper hit this gen.

I do want this game, but I'll hold all my exceitment until I hear who the developer will be. The Darkness was developed by Starbreeze (makers of the Riddick game) and I remember reading that they did not want to make another Darkness game. Hopefully they changed their minds though...

I loved this game. One of the best endings to a game(as far as narrative) this gen. The actual gameplay needs some cool major changes...also the final battle was sort of lame....since it was mostly a cutscene :Pjg4xchamp

I enjoyed the original Darkness's multiplayer and single player heavily. Not sure if anyone plays online on it anymore on PS3 or 360 but there was a good following for a long time online. I'd like a sequel very much so. First one was great.

Also, awesome news, the game was one of the most underrated ones of 2007 (and there were a LOT that year). Gald to see it coming.

Sweet, The Darkness was one evil and bloody game. Putting guns in people's mouths and impaling them with tentacles almost seems like it shouldnt be aloud. MickeyTheNinja

I just could not get into the first one. Try as I might, I just couldn't.

I just realised I've had it for 2 years now, anyways can't wait one of my favorite games this gen. Truly under appreciated.

Yeah The Darkness was actually a very good game. It deserves a sequel. It was unique and fresh.

The first one was a great game with a very fantastic story, unlike those rubbish rehashed FPS's that we see everyday, I'm very glad there'll be a sequel. Btw, I like the name "Top Cow" :P

Greatest Hits is such a scam, as others have pointed out you can get the game for 5 to 10 bucks, now they want to jack it up to 30? pshhhhh

When you said Top Cow, I thought you meant either a big Sony fanboy or someone like Kaz Hirai or something like that. I didn't know it was a company :P
