Top Ten Games and Game of the Year - Show Your Lists! (GOTY Wars!)

That's all I can think of that I really liked this year. Some I haven't given a chance yet, and some I haven't even played yet so I can't say.

Can I say Halo Anniversary is one of my favorites? I didn't actually play anniversary, but I've played 1 and I know I love it! :P

I've yet to play other games I want: Deus Ex HR, E.Y.E, Terraria, ToR, Arkham City, Crysis 2. Waaay too many games out this year.

That's it for games released this year that I've played that I feel are deserving of being mentioned.

Sonic Generations is very deserving of Game of the Year. Sonic Team has finally found a fomula for Sonic games that people like! This game engine that they've used in Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations is great! Sonic has made a comeback.

i honestly don't understand how anyone can really like sonic generations, let alone call it their game of the year. the "3d" levels totally ruined the game for me, the controls are awful as is the level design. then they throw in these stupid, half assed challenges and DO NOT get me started on the bosses. sonic team are horrible if they think this is anything close to polished (like say, sonic colors). it was a huge letdown for me.

but hey, different strokes for different folks i guess....

I haven't even biught many 2011 games. I enjoy Assassin's creed Revelations, Zelda, Dead Space 2 and Radiant Historia.

I don't think I even played 10 games this year. :cry:

Let's see...there's Skyrim...Battlefield 3 and...that's it. :cool:

I've been buying older games for cheap this year.

I agree. The hype and love that game is getting will surely ruin it for me. I know for a fact that I won't look at it as the second coming.

And Uncharted 3 is better anyways :)

I also forgot to add Portal 2 to my list. Great game. Might actually replay it again.

I think I own 5 2011 games. 4 of those are on 3DS, and then there is Catherine :P I'll play more 2011 games in 2012. This is my GOTY list so far:

It seems like no matter what they do, Sonic Team just can't please the fans anymore. With Sonic Unleashed they finally gave the fans what they've been asking for and people still hated the game because of the Werewolf. Alright, so maybe Sonic Unleashed wasn't exactly what everyone was asking for since it had the gimmicky werehog. But the daytime levels are what everyone loved. So after Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Team decided to make their Sonic games using only the fun daytime levels that everyone claims to like. They made Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations like this, and people STILL say that the Sonic franchise is dead. -_-

The level design in Sonic Generations is brilliant, it's in every way better than the daytime level design in Sonic Unleashed. Those levels in Sonic Unleashed were very linear, if you play a level once, you've generally seen all there is to see. They've made the levels a lot bigger in Sonic Generations with multiple possible paths, it made it feelreminiscentof older Sonic games in which you wanted to take the higher path. If you messed up, you fell down to the path below, and that path is slower and more tedious. The level design in Sonic Generations is very well thought out and dynamic.

After Playing and buying a lot of games this year I can now fully give you a List and a Winner for the year 2011.

3. Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony
4. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Sorry Battlefield, You were great, but Modern Warfare 3 had a better Campaign.

and of course Game of the Year goes to Skyrim.

Because I play ps3 exclusives on the ps3 and multiplats on the 360. Plus I really like the 360's controller better.
