Topics that need to just DIE!!!

This attitude is usually found in the Pleading Threads, and yeah, I just can't stand the way they look down on us as if console gamers are an inferior sub species. That image is used in someone's sig, Lettuceman I think, and man does it grind my gears to see that.

But to be fair, I know not all PC gamers are like that, plenty I know in GUFU who are both PC and console gamers. But yeah the ones with the superiority complexes need to step out of their ivory towers.

Graphics king - One person likes one game and another likes another game. Yet, technically speaking, Crysis (a 3 year old game) is still better looking than all.

Milkage - People will buy what they want. Let it go.

I think it's even sadder when people feel the need to 'hide' who they actually are just to conform to some unwritten rule of "its uncool to be passionate and serious on the internet". Being fake is much worse IMO.

While no topic is significantly worse than another, I'd have to give my vote to graphics king threads for being the least interesting.

Yeah for real. The TF2 gamenight we had a bit back was actually pretty cIassy (despite Stevo's sentries repeatedly owning me :x).

The foliage thing is something that someone needs to explain to me.

On topic like someone said pages ago the Live vs. psn debates and how one is better than the other. I HATE THOSE WITH A PASSION!!!!!!!

And the troll topics that go on for 20 years cause people feel the need to say that x game is horrible and it shouldnt have gotten x score.

Honestly I'm sick of threads posted every time someone says something about a video game. Like the Kevin Butler thread on RDR or Morgan Webb's comments on SMG2. Everyone is so freakin thin-skinned that it turns into one big flaming fest.

System Wars things I'm tired of:

Xbox Live Gold vs. PSN

Misuse of the term FACT

People listing a few games and then saying "etc." instead of actually creating a valid list (happens frequently in regards to XBox exclusives)

Hyperbole abuse (Halo is the greatest game ever, Big Rigs has the best graphics ever, Demon's Souls is the deepest game ever, my system is the best thing in all of creation, PS3 is the worst console ever)

People talking about future releases in comparisons to current releases/libraries (Yes, I'm talking about you, GeoW3 vs. UC2 posts)

People creating lists and expecting others to read them

There is problems in SW, no doubt about it.

But another one is attacking users for liking / disliking a different product. That's another topic that needs to die. Talk about the arguments, not the person. That breeds gossip and lies, and no one wants that. People even make long thread in SW about fanboys, groups, or a person, and we should refrain. So, that's a topic that must die as well.

The culmination of such acts like lies, gossip, and false accusations could actually oust good people from GameSpot or GS's unions because a group of posters secretly hate another group of posters. That is wrong, and the idea people leaving our beloved SW or even Gamespot due mostly in part to unconfirmed gossip is very sad. We don't need to lose good posters, imo.

We have to do our best as members of society to make sure false accusations, gossip, and pride don't ruin our internet forum experience. Heck, I say we need to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else on SW or GS, anymore.

These great posters can just easily find another home at another site, so let's make them more comfortable, I say. :P

This, a million times over. It really is quite ridiculous to think that something as trivial as disagreeing over the quality of a video game can actually lead to such mob rule mentality, but it all too often does.

I realize that this is System Wars and chaos will always reign supreme for the most part, but there is a fine line between having fun and making it personal. I disagree with people all the time, but I always still show them respect and try to be friendly. Hell, I disagree with my best friends and even family all the time as well, but that does not change our relationship. Put into this kind of perspective, it really is quite unbelievable the grudges that people can harbor here over video game disagreements, lol.

*EDIT* For the sake of the poll, I'll go with graphics king threads. Better yet, 'TeH KiNgZ' threads in general.
