I cant take anyone from the UK's opinion seriously on anything related to Warhammer videogames. But it's only one game on the list.

Darkest Dungeon is ace and hasn't gotten the attention it deserves.

DOOM and SuperHot are the only 2 games I care for on that list. Not saying the other games are bad, just not my thing. Never cared for turn based/tactics strategy games. I like traditional RTS like Warcraft and Command and Conquer though.

I remember playing the original X-COM back in the day and I couldn't move my characters because I didn't have enough 'time units'. I was like... "WTF is this shit!? This game is garbage" and never played it again. LOL I think I ended up playing Crusader: No Remorse or Quarantine instead.

That shit brings back memories of mid 90s PC gaming. I remember the old shareware games and how I anxiously awaited the monthly PC Gamer demo disc. However, I certainly don't miss having to set IRQ or DMA channels, run DOS in extended memory mode, or swap floppy disks. I still remember downloading games from BBS servers on my old US Robotics 28.8K Sportster modem (bad ass back in the day). They would take forever and everybody else in the house would get mad at me because I was tying up the phone line. We have certainly come a long way. hehe :)

Woot, XCOM 2 was my favorite of 2016 as well.

I like TB, he definitely has the whole "Substance over Flash" mentality to gaming... and doesn't assume frigging exclusive AAAs are the best games of the year... 99% of the time, they are far from it.

Great list from TB. Doom 2016, SuperHot, & XCOM2 are up there since I enjoy those games but I'm disappointed that Total War: Warhammer isn't on the list, I really enjoy Total War: Warhammer, it should have been up there :(

@zaryia: I doubt movie games appeal to 12 year olds. Although his list is what you would expect from someone with the attention span of a 12 year old.

I like his list, not that I agree with it or really am I in any position to for that matter considering how PC centric it is, but it's nice to see people stick up for lesser known games than regurgitate the same popular sentiments for convenience or to pander to the majority.

Refreshing to see that the top games don't over-emphasize "story".

I'm glad to see Darkest Dungeon make someone's list finally. XCOM 2 and DOOM are no surprise, though Steamworld Heist (great game) is surprising though.

I really want to play XCOM 2, but I just don't make the time.

I should literally book a holiday to a five-star hotel package in Barcelona for 3 nights and stay in the room all day playing it as much as possible.

Anyone else who doesn't really play video games anymore? You might even come here just to post on System Wars out of habit than actually have an interest in games.

If you were overseas in Barcelona and had that money to stay 3 nights in 5 star accommodation, you probably wouldnt bother booting up a videogame.
