Treyarch Asks Black Ops 2 Players to "Go Easy on Christmas Noobs"

With Christmas just a few days away theres bound to be a lot of newCall of Dutyplayers jumping ontoBlack Ops 2after receiving it as a gift. Treyarch has warned current players to go easy on these newcomers over the festive period.

In the latest Message of the Day (via Reddit), developer Treyarch has asked players to not go too hard on the Christmas noobs that are going to be coming into the game.

Lets talk Christmas Noobs. Its that time of the year again where thousands of new players join the online ranks for the first time. Wed ask you to go easy on the Christmas Noobs, but we know you wont, reads the message. If you are a Christmas Noob yourself, dont be bullied. In the Combat Training category youll find a great playlist called Boot Camp. This is the best place for a player to get up to speed on the game and all it has to offer.

Also nice of Treyarch to make sure new players know there's a mode where they can get up to speed.

I've always differentiated between the terms newbie and noob. To me, a noob is a degrading word, and not only to me either since it tends to be used a lot to insult others. Since this is 2012 where everyone is so sensitive about this kind of stuff, I wonder if gamers will someday pass on a law, kinda like degrading words for blacks, women, gays, we'd have one for gaming newbies; noobs.

I need to pick up the game for 360. I'm interested to compare the two versions I will have. I've been hearing about some pretty bad lag on 360, though.

They will be fine as always treyarch has created a glitch filled game with some of the most stupid design philosophies around, they will learn quickly that the name of the game is camp and that one always uses the correct weapon namely any smg with a surpresser and laser attatchment coupled with lightweight,conditiong...etc you cant lose. They will also learn that with correct scorestreak usage one only has to kill their first 5-6 people they then can sit back and lay down fire for almost 2 minutes since their first scorestreak will almost always lead into their second and third.

The lagging is disk based and has nothing to do with network.. because the game is pretty big the disk lags sometimes when you switch from mode to mode ( multiplayer to zombies or story mode to multiplayer, etc ) but thats about it

Noob is such an awful word. I cringe everytime people say it.. It's just so outdated and unfitting for modern gaming.

There are no such things as 'noobs' in CoD. Everyone who plays the game for the first time is instantly good with all of the auto aim, perks, and killstreaks holding your hand from the get-go.
