It's really not. If you haven't played Halo religiously in the past years, this game is fine. I still enjoy it, but I'm just fatigued with Halo.

To be fair, I'm bored of most games nowdays, mainly just playing League of Legends, Counter Strike GO and more recently some KF

Getting owned by better/more experienced players is just part of being a gamer. Humility is a great present.

I've started playing Black Ops 2 on the PS3 for something fun to do with my brogamer friends (I suck dogsh!t at Madden), the game has obvious problems but is still entertaining enough for me to play with my friends online. That said, for all you people talking about the lack of skill required, I must really suck lol. I have like a straight up 1 K/D ratio :Pbobcheeseball

Most of the people who say the game takes no skill most likely suck at it. I started playing Modern Warfare and sucked at the game. Ive played every COD since then and now Im usually one of the top players every game. The game does take skill. Some players are better than other players just like every other competitve game out there.

I haven't owned a CoD game in over 2 years now but I played BO2 at my gf's house (her 10 year old twins play) and won a round of free for all my first attempt. I have not played an FPS with a gamepad since Spring '11 and was still able to win. When I go and play Quake Live, I get b!tched around like a piece of trash, despite me being used to the KB/M controls. I don't think I could even manage to place out of the bottom 3 in a match on that game

Every time I play a match in CoD I die every time and get maybe one ore two kills.

I'm shooting bullets at random and throwing gernades willy nilly but I'm not getting any kills. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!?

Every game requires skill. It's baffling to hear anyone say otherwise. In CoD, as in most games, everyone is on equal footing. Everyone has access to the same crap. The skill may not be the same skills required of other games, but they are there nonetheless.

While Halo 3 is the most godly multiplayer shooter to ever grace consoles it is still fun to play 4.

Don't listen to DarkLink. He read about every "flaw" of Halo 4 prior to playing it, and then played it to justify how much he already hated it.

Halo 4 has some pretty good additions to the series multiplayer such as loadouts are great because they prevent you from spawning over and over with an assault rifle out in the open where you can't fight back against people with battle rifles.

Also, while there is no equipment like in Halo 3 :cry: the armor abilities are at least balanced (mostly) while they were nowhere near balanced in Reach. I'm actually prettery certain armor abilities are a bit more balanced approach to gameplay than equipment, but nothing beat flying out of the man cannon in Valhalla, and knocking down a banshee with a power drain :P

They also added an ordinance system which is pretty cool because you build up your ordinance meter by doing good. Most maps still retain the necessity for map control, but with the new system it allows the losing team to actually stage a comeback if the enemy team manages to pick up all the power weapons.

Lastly they also made it so that most every weapon is actually relevant. It's nice to see people actually using the AR, BR, DMR, Light Rifle, and Carbine in the same game.

If you're feeling like Halo it's easy to suggest 4, and I too played Halo 3 religiously. I believe there was even a time when Bungie.net had me listed as the player with the highest KDR, and win ratio in the Northwest region.

Halo 4 isn't AS good as Halo 3, but it brings a lot of new features, some new game modes, and a much better forge mode. My only wish is that 343 just port every Halo 3 map to Halo 4 :P That'd make it amazing!

Played BO2 and then BF3 after (4 month BF3 break). Couldn't believe how fast paced BF3 actually is. There is way more to take into account and the weapons are way harder to use. I also noticed some COD players went to play BF3 now, there was a whole lot of whining in the chat that didn't used to be there.
But when BF3 goes into corridor shooting (Close Quarters) you notice that the game is not made around just that aspect, so it doesn't work as smoothly and you get COD issues like awkward spawnpoints. I wouldn't buy CQ.
Also, I think the remedy against such a poor userbase is to remove the feel of the game being some kinda e-sport. You have that same community in DOTA/LOL/HON because they are all in this mindset of winning money or something. Split the userbase. Preserving a good community is not just about the numbers, my GW1 clan learned that the hard way.

It wouldnt be fair going easy on new players... You get better by playing against the best :)
