Here's the big difference between Achievements and Trophies, with Achievements every game will have Achievements because they are mandatory for every 360 game, while it's up to the individual gaming devs to imply Trophies since they are not mandatory to every PS3 game.

PSN is still not a unified service. It's up to the devs if they can have online (Virtua Fighter as an example), it's up to the gaming dev if you have to sign in their gaming websites just to make a website ID and a gaming ID (Konami for example), and it's just to the gaming devs if they want to make a themed room (Lair for example). It's really up to the devs.

Do you really think all these devs will go back and make trophies for their games, games like COD4, UT3, etc.

How in hell did you prove you had a 360? You posted a link to a gamertag you created specifically for the purpose of trying to prove you had a 360 so you didn't look like a cow.

And the other time was in a thread about UK sales, with the 360 outselling the PS3 since the launch of GTA4. You said in every shop you've been in the PS3 version of GTA4 was out of stock, while there were tons of copies of the 360 version WHICH WAS A COMPLETE LIE. You then went on to say, the downloadable content that the 360 will get in the future is already on the PS3 disc. So I dispelled your lies. And therefore, you were owned.

All achievements is are is numbers trophys are things you can see

Anyway, I was thinking since Home was too ambitious and they most likely didn't end up with the features they wanted to put in, I wouldn't be suprised if Trophies are cancelled and if it's replaced with something easier, something called Accomplishments.

Considering how you have to leave any game you are playing and go to home to see these trophies, believe me it will get old. On the XBox you can see your achievements with a picture next to it, a description, and the score value....plus you can see the total value of all your points on your profile. You can even compare your achievements with your friends during gameplay.

Even games like Rainbow Six, Mass Effect, etc. Have a menu dedicated to your achievements with medals, trophies, etc. And since Home is an application you cannot run at the same time as a game......plus the idea hasn't even been implemented yet, and how many devs will do it after it is done? so that point about seeing your trophies on Home makes it just like looking at your trophies/medals of Xbox achievements with each game.....PSN is not unified, so not all devs will do it (even after Sony has made home and trophies), just like custom soundtracks on the first Xbox. So it will basically turn into a gimmick, or feature only used with certain games (only Sony games, or major supporters).

Should be interesting to see which one people prefer more once the ps3 update comes up. Microsoft might counter with something soon if they think it'll make that big of an impact on their gaming community.

Each achievement does have a number attached to it, but there's a description as well as a picture. Check wayneheads pic a few posts up.

Considering it's up and working and I know someone who's tested it in the Close Beta.. I won't be surprsied if it comes out by the end of this year quite frankly.

With firmware 2 40 due shortly. One of the features will be a 2d representaion of the trophies you will get in home. Who else thinks this will be better than some random score on a gamercard.
