True Power of the PS4; Horizon's..

I like the idea behind Horizons and it looks pretty damn good, but it's GG and lets not forget that Killzone: SF also looked pretty damn good pre-release.

I hope i'm wrong about this game, but sadly i doubt i will be.

Just because Horizon has amazing tech doesn't mean the gameplay would be shit automatically. In fact name me one game that lets you shirtfront robodinos in many different ways in an open world game? GOd damn jelly herms and lems running out of fuels to flame.

I find a lot of the facial work rather amazing. A few games in particular have really raised the bar. None of this is perceivable durting actual play though. Hyping all this stuff is just asking for more cinematic games.

Said it in a different thread but I really dig the Horizon female lead. Great design. Nice to see something that women activists can't whine about.

Facial hair and half tucks are BS. How about bragging up some good gameplay, sweet AI or innovative mechanics?

I'd say a lower resolution 1080p PS4/ 900p Xbox One etc, not framerate though, there's no reason to assume the framerate would be any lower.

Anyway, Horizon looks fun. I've been interested in it for a while now.

And then the downgrade kicks in just like the Out of Order 800p and Crapzone: Shadow Fail where even in the cutscene models was downgraded.

I've seem TO adjustments before the game coming out. It was a screenshot of 3-5 of them dragging a soldier into a building.

Any links to the KZSF downgrade?

The Witcher 3 easily has it beat.

@RyviusARC: Wouldn't say easily, both seem to be using speedtree for vegetation and the lighting looks good on both games. The character models look better in Horizon IMO, but there will probably be some downgrading in the future, we'll see.

Even in the video you will notice a lot of LOD pop in issues.

The Witcher 3 simply wins because a computer can push it much further than the PS4 could ever dream of.

Wonder if we'll get a high budget Horizon-esque game soon (Robo Dinos; new Dino Crisis, new Lost Planet?) if it becomes a hit and a 3rd party wants to do something closer to that for PS4/X1/PC (look at old TR then to new TR and now RoTR probably because of ND/UC influence/popularity).

It's the true power of Sony employing top notch 3d artists and programmers while floating the bill for some cool tech.

Kind of annoying how every time a good looking console game comes around people choose to praise the box it runs on while ignoring the actual reasons as why the game looks how it does. Those characters don't look great because the game is running on PS4 hardware. They look great because people dedicated their lives to being great at their craft and Sony was smart enough to scoop them up.

And the more powerful hardware was there to render the extra hair at 1080p. That's where some of the extra 30-40% GPU juice is used relative to the bone. The canvas for the artist is bigger with better hardware.

Do people really sit and look for this stuff in the games they own? I borrowed the Order and yes it has great graphics. Big deal, the game is so weak that I am struggling to get the easiest Platinum trophy available. You can have all this power cows. I want to play enjoyable games and I see plenty coming to both consoles.

When the games bog down to 10-15 fps facial hair matters. Sony knows this, thanks kat sum san

@batosaims: How do you know what GG is focusing on? We have seen one 5 minute clip on gameplay...that had more fluid combat than any other Western RPG I have ever seen. And yes it it is full blown RPG with towns, crafting, skill trees perking, hunting, gathering resources, economy, side quests, seamless open world, multiple tribes, exploration, swimming, character customization and tree/mountain climbing. But yes it is all about the facial hair...

They have also same said it will not have framerate drops below 30 so it will run smooth(for a console game).

I feel you bro. I know that you're an artist yourself, so I can understand your point of view. The actual artist's themselves are never get acknowledged enough by these fanboys.
