Actually, nevermind.  Nothing can save the 360 in Japan.  What else can they do?  Released RPGs...that didn't help. Massive advertising...that didn't help.  Better software during its time there than the original Xbox had during the same timeframe...that didn't help.  Nothing works!!  Even with seemingly unlimited funds, Microsoft STILL can't get a foothold in Japan.  "But, but there's no software Japanese like".  Oh really?  360 has plenty of diverse games in Japan.  The Japanese just don't seem to want to even give it a chance.  When will Microsoft admit defeat in Japan?

I don't think the key to the 360 woes in Japan are going to be alleviated with one gesture alone.  MS must prove that it's committed to Japan over the long haul.  I say, "change the marketing pitch, and keep doing what you're doing".

MS shouldnt admit defeat, they should push harder and get better help in advertising in japan. thats been one of there problems they dont advertise well in japan. if they fix that then the japanes could get into a kameo, a blue dragon, a gears, dead or alive 4, etc. they will more than likely lose. but no legit business company should just give up.

That could be the current MMO were themed after things the Japanese don't have much interest in.

acutally yes they do massive advertising over there. i went there during winter and i saw 360 banners and posters up in shinjuku (large in games)...shibuya(place for younger generations)..harajuku(teenagers)...odaiba(futuristic shopping places)..and akihabra(discount electronics and games)...these are all places that have potential to attact buyers...and trust me..these areas are literally PACKED with electronics and games stores...also alot of teenagers hang out in these areas and buy alot of electronics in these areas...the ps3 and 360 have the same amount of advertising...but i usually saw alot of people walking out with ps3s and Gundam Crossfire (american title)...the 360s were sitting on shelves and the occasional kid with less money would grab one and walk out...but yes...sony does have a big fan base in japan since it is a japanese company...gory games do not appeal to the japanese...gundam is like starwars over there...the gundam game for 360 might help but we dont know that yet...anyways thats how i saw it over there...im not bashing...i like all three systems...im just stating the truth of what i saw over there

oh yea...and theres practically no Wii's in stores in any of the areas...they actually had signs posting..."NO MORE WII's FOR ANOTHER MONTH"

pretty crazy that country

Make more games like Lost Planet.

ArisShadows

They released Lost Planet in Japan, and it got a great review from Famitsu (as alot of 360 games do).

Sold about 60,000 copies so far. not bad for an install base of less than 400,000.

We all know that 360 doesn't do well in Japan, but the fac tis that there are hardcore gamers buying it there. Not to mention Korea. You never see numbers, but Korea/Asia editions of games always sell well on import websites like play-asia or yesasia. Microsoft won't stop trying anytime soon.

Plus, as Xbox fans in North America, we get the great Western RPGs plus a few "desperate atttempts" Asian market like Eternal Sonata & Blue Dragon.

The fact that there's any Japanese flavoured games on this generation's Xbox is a blessing for me.

I love great games, and love to play them on great systems. Sales mean squat in the long run these days. All three consoles have their market. There's two great handhelds out there and PC gaming is better than it has been in years as well.

Everything has it's place, and none need redemption, even N-Gage. Ok, maybe not N-Gage.
