[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]The pre-rendered scene looked nice, but that was expected. The actual gameplay just looked alright to me.NAPK1NS
The catch: that "pre-rendered scene" was all in-game.
In game to which he said they can come back to add effects and do the camera and mo-cap on. As in mostly in game, with added special effects to add cenematic effect.
As for gameplay, it looks kinda regular, if it has fail gameplay, no amount of graphics would save it. Also, the fog looks pretty good though. With the water, Gears 2 also has new water technology that will be very similar.
I love the word generic shooter being used for Rfom or R2 lol. Dang Rfom had elements from some of the great shooters that I know of. Like HL2, Doom3, Quake4, and COD were some of the games that cross my mind when playing Rfom here recently. So as long as those kind of games come to my mind when playing it, then it can be generic lol.
Also with the crazy weapons that you get and how important it is to use different ones depending on the enemy makes even less generic than the great games I mentioned earlier. Though Quake 4 did do pretty good about making you switch up some also with your weapons.
Just curious has anyone stepped up to show the TC that Crysis and Crysis Waread make Resistance 2, KZ2, and GOW2 look like crap ?Jade_Monkey
I just figured I'd point out that those games you listed for the ps3 run on a system 256mb gpu ram and 256 of system ram. lol Also like to point out that the gpu for the ps3 is compared to a 7800gt possibly in sli. So maybe now you can see how its impressive. I haven't chked your pc specs but if your running crysis then more than likely your gpu cost as much as a ps3. So basically you bought a gpu for that kind of money for 1 game, maybe 2 if you count Stalker clear skies. While most other games on the pc are comparable to the console counter part, except maybe resolution.
Also please take a look at the pc section in you local Walmart or whatever, it would be empty of new games if it were for those 2 and spore that recently came out aswell. Oh yea besides the console games that were made multiplate for the pc also. LOL sad day when Devil May Cry helps make the pc library of games.
Just thought I'd respond to your useless post, cause don't think NO one is saying that R2 or any of the games for the consoles are going to look better than Crysis.
P.S. I gamed on the pc for the past 5 years until getting my ps3 last Nov and well I got tired of upgrading. And at this point I would need a new pc aswell as a gpu to game on the pc. Never the less I've got to play most games that I would have missed or dumbed down graphically if still trying to game on this pc.

I am supposed to be impressed that the PS3 has the power of 2 7800s ? No. Here's the funny thing to run crysis at bare minimum requires a GPU that cost $40 so if you are saying that you need a $1000 PC to run it you are way off. I can build a rig that will play it near maxed out for $650. I don't buy my games at Walmart (i'm not white trash), I go to Futureshop/Best Buy which both have a wide selection of PC games. If I am really desperate I will go to EB/Gamestop. I should also point out that this gen PC has more exclusives and higher rated games than all three consoles put togther and that last year PC games sold more than PS3, Wii, and 360 games (individually not combined).
I still don't get the big deal with resistence. I'm playing through the first now and i think it's rather average, strikes me as the perfect dark zero of the PS3.
Halo 3 gets called generic by sony lovers all the time yet this is praised, it's uh..a bad shooter. Sorry it just is. I'm not sure how far into it i am, i've just gone into a fish..factory or something, Loads of blue tubes about for transporting the cacoons.
The guns are just dull, not interesting, the enemys have some extremely stupid A.I, they slide left and right when you shoot them which, I know sounds silly is just annoying more so when they slide to the left to fast for me to keep my gun on them while tehre bullets have perfect aim no matter what, just seems cheap.
Controls suck, throwing grenades sucks..i was laughing at that one actually, hit square and no matter what it'll fly across the room, he has one hell of a strong throwing arm, very very basic. Graphics do blow extremely bad, very VERY ugly in places although looks like they've fixed it in R2.
Hell i can go on for ages, even the flipping menus are rubbish, why do i have to use the D-Pad to navigate them over the sticks? It's just a pain, is it that hard to make them both work?
Yeah, not a fan of it so far, forcing myself to play through it though.

You can build a pc to run crysis at full max with $650? And shoppers of Walmart are white trash lol. Hmmm last I checked a decent dual core is atleast $170, 2gigs of decent ram atleast $150, a case $70 with power supply included the white trash way lol, dvd drive $60, all cables about $40, we'll say 120gb hdd $70, a decent 8800 series card ATLEAST $200, and a motherboard and even me a white trash walmart shopper and associate isn't going to put a $40 mother board in a pc I build so a GOOD motherboard $200.
So between a Good motherboard, gpu and cpu you are going to be at $600. If you skimp on those 3 componants then you are just waisting your time, your money and your mind just to prove you can run crysis on a low budget pc lol. Heck the one componant that is REALLY the most important is your power supply and if I a white trash shopper and associate was building a pc would cost about $100 to $150 alone aswell. So not really sure who is white trash here lol.
Also I wasn't stating you should be impressed that the ps3 has the power of 2 7800gt's but that what is rendered by the ps3 by todays gpu standards. Another words its good enough to make you come in here and try to defend the pc lol.
P.S. Oh forgot I've already upgraded my monitor so I'll put $350 aswell for a monitor to run that built pc on, so atleast to most peoples standards when purchasing something, you'll have to be around $1000 to $1500 to build and run crysis or higher if running it on MAX. Have a friend who can run it on MAX with a 8800 ultra which is about $500-$600 alone.
Good looking game, too bad it probably bland like it first one.ArisShadows
Except the first game wasn't bland. I wonder if you've even played it.
 as soon as I saw the avitar and sig I knew it was a cow hype thread
Resistance 2 is just more mediocrity i the gameplay and graphics department.

Can always tell when people have no knowledge dealing with the subject by posts like this.
I applaud you for continuing through with it though, bravo.
R1 SP was really good and a good challenge while at the same time the MP provided for many hours of fun also.
R2 looks to do nothing but improve on every aspect of the first, haters be damned.

Oh, so now it's generic? I thought it was mediocre? Make up your mind please.
And you further proving the point, again I applaud you.

Notice how I put "games" i my reply meaning MORE THEN ONE. I'm sorry, what were you saying? I could go on and on...
You've shown that you either have no idea what you're talking about in terms of PC hardware/gaming or that you just wish to make a gaming PC appear to be more expensive than it actually is. Congratulations.
