get her a Ds with..... planet puzzle league she'll love you forever. i got mines hooked to this, but it started out when i had her playing the super nintendo version of tetris attack, whichis what this game basically is

Dude! My girlfriend is playing the exact same game right now! Haha, yeah thought it was a bunch of balony 'til we tried out the garbage challenge. Wicked fun.

how do you doubt the greatness of this brand? this is the brand, that can single handedly crush the tetris brand. this this brand is amongst the greatest puzzle game of all time. every day i thank nintendo for inventing this franchise

Well, intelligent systems.

DS.

PSP is just a portable PS2, and if the PS2 didn't get her into gaming, then there's no way in hell the PSP will.

Giev her any (or all) of these games for starters. If she enjoys them then you can try giving her something more substantial (like Advance Wars or castlevania or a meatier RPG)

Tempting. Free shipping too. Have Planet Puzzle League and Pokemon. Roommate has more conventional (MPH and Mario Kart).

Clubhouse games would be perfect for my sister, too. Perhaps an early christmas present?

Am I the only one who would prefer my girlfriend to not be a gamer?

I don't want anyone hogging my gaming systems. And when I'm older, someone's got to make dinner etc whilst the other is having fun, right?

:P

I'd recommend a DS. I actually got one of my female friends into gaming by loaning her my DS Lite. Now she has her own (pink) DS Lite.

For games it's hard to recommend (you probably have the best idea what kind of genres she likes), but for addictive pick-up-and-play, I'd recommend Picross, Pokemon, New Super Mario Bros, or Kirby: Canvas Curse. After that try something a bit harder, like Elite Beat Agents, Phoenix Wright, or Advance Wars.

Also, play with her. That's my recommendation. Turn it into a couple activity and then it's not just getting her into gaming, it's quality time spent together.

It's not an impossible task. I've done it before and so can you. Just be smart about it and next thing you know you're dating a girl gamer.

I am trying to get my girlfriend into gaming by first buying her a handheld, with the ultimate goal of getting her into console gaming... (which might be a exercise in futility :P)

I actually DO NOT own either handheld device, but I am willing to wager a guess that a female would prefer the games out on the DS over games for the PSP? Also, just FYI, my girlfriend is 29 years old, so perhaps she might actually like the PSP more?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If possible, could people also make some suggestions on games to buy for each respective system?

Games with a very low learning curve (easy to pick up), fun to play, and something a girl would enjoy!

portej

DS games my girl likes.

Final Fantasy 3

Animal Crossing

Castlevania

New Super Mario Bros.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

Clubhouse Games (has 42 different games I believe)

[QUOTE="monkeysrfat"]this sounds more like a way to make your girlfriend dump you if you ask meportej

haha, actually, she was the one who signified interest in a DS or PSP

She said something along the lines of, "It might be nice to have one of those things for long plane rides..."

I thought one was not allowed to have electronic devices on a plane... :|
