I just downloaded and played the Turok Demo off PSN. Man is this game generic. The graphics, which from screenshots I saw off the internet seemed to be great (musta been bullshots), were pretty average to even bad. Like when you are in the forest when you first get out of the cave.....those textures on those trees are laughable. Anyways, I'm thinkin' that UE3 is a flop so far and Turok is it's latest victim. Anyone else have thoughts?

Meh, it's not that bad, but it's not that great. Everytime a new game/demo comes out it's either "it's crap/It's rubbish", or "It has the best ____ since ____". It's never anything in between. It's as if people only have two choices. Not the best place for trustworthy opinions I suppose.

well the demo isnt in hd.....but it wasnt all that i really expected..i mean it was fun having the dinos flank u and get behind u and push u over..but it all seemed to plain
I know those gun sounds were just crap. I shoot guns all the time with my dad and the only game that gets near to a real gun shot is the rifle on RFOM thats it not even COD4 sounds like a real gun.
Is killing the dinosaurs in any way unique? Do they have special AI or are they just generic enemies that run straight at you?Saturos3091
They do pretty much run straight at you. Personally I thought the worst part was that when you get charged by a dinosaur, you go flying backwards; and when you can't really see what's going on and there is a pack of them surrounding you, it's just a game of tennis between the dinosaurs.
There was no brightness setting either, so you're basically running around in pitch black caves for the beginning segment. The only redeeming factor was the awesome knife kills.

I dunno my PS3 downloads are just as fast, if not a little faster than my X360 downloads. Maybe a connection setting issue? Did you put your PS3 on your router's DMZ?

It is one of those games that made me feel compelled to put the controller down and go outside.
This kinda sucks. I wnated this game to be good. With so many good FPS games out these days, how hard can it be to just do what the other ones do? Only with dinosaurs?
demo has been out for a billion years, and it's decent, not crap. although i played it on 360 and the graphics might look better... don't know., probably less jaggies (no appearent jaggies at all as far as i could see). i do think this game might be repetative as hell.

Turok was best on N64. Turok 2 still rocks and that game was made by Retro Studios.p3anut
It was actually made by Iguana Studios (Spelling?) then members left when they had to change there name to Acclaim Austin, so they formed Retro Studios with the help Nintendo because Nintendo Funded them and made them a 2nd Party.
