Twilight Princess --- 1 1/2 years later....It is still $50 at GameStop

Wow, Nintendo. Isn't it time to lower the price finally? Assassin's Creed sold like hotcakes, and the price went down fairly quickly. In fact, come to think of it...EVERY MAJOR LAUNCH TITLE that was a hit now has a lower price. Not so with teh Twilight Princess though. Nope. And so I don't get owned, I'm referring to the Wii version.

Even though I'm just now getting around to actually finishing TP now and still having fun with it, I agree it should come down in price.

Nintendo is probably collecting a bunch of games so they can release a "Players Choice" lineup all at the same time. It'd be forgiveable if like Zelda, Warioware, Excite Truck, and SPM were all rereleased for 20-30 bucks.

Nintendo for some reason ain't having Player's Choice titles.

By now, all launch titles would be Player's Choice.

Thats sad.

While Bioshock is 40$ new I believe.

It was released at roughly the same time as TP. Resistance too. Nintendo first-party games are always notoriously over-priced. A few months ago I saw Minish Cap, a GBA game, going for roughly $25.

Isn't Motorstorm still like $50? I know it wasn't a launch title but we all know how shallow that game was.butteater86

They're soon going to release MotorStorm Complete at a lower price with all the DLC included.

Nintendo has an annoying history of doing this. They do it with their DS games, too. Mario Kart DS still retails for $34.99 across the board. :| I can understand why they do this with games that are still selling like crazy. But isn't it time to lower the price on games like Metroid Prime 3, or Super Paper Mario?

There's other games that have stayed like that. I bet Halo 3 will stay $60 for a while. It should drop to $40 soon though.

Yeah, MotorStorm was fun online, but the offline stuff was lacking in many ways.

Wow, you're right. That is ridiculous too.

Price cuts within gaming are rediculous and Nintendo has commented on it before saying they are against the rampant price cutting that occurs. The quality and value of the game doesnt dimish that quickly over time and neither should its price. Price cuts should be a tool for publishers/retailers can use at their own discretion not a expectation and requirement impossed upon them by the consumer.

Just look at all the comments people make in game threads, even this one, of how theyll wait till the game gets a price cut in order to buy it. So many gamers require that the devs cut their revenue on a game in order to buy it. People wonder why so many great game series completely tank and never get a sequel, cause gamers are cheap and they refuse to buy a game until it costs them nothing and so even though a game may get decent sales the actual revenue will be abysmal.

nintendo is famous for not droping prices as long as the game still sells decently (as in at all)

last time i checked melee was still 60$ and it was 8 years old

It was new, too - obviously unsold stock just sitting in the store. It had shed a bit of its launch price, i'll admit, but it was still extremely expensive for a three-year old game on last-gen hardware.

Yeah, I think game sales could be even higher this gen if only like top-tier AAA games were $59.99. Any game over 6 months old should be $49.99 max, regardless of anything (ratings, sales, original price). After a year, $39.99 max.
