I'm confused as to why there are no Player Choice titles for Wii or DS yet. Maybe it's because they are still selling well?

What? It had come down in price, but it was still very over-priced for a three-year old game. What is so ****ing difficult to understand about that? I originally said Nintendo games are over-priced - being over-priced doesn't necessarily mean it always stays at launch price. In future come up with better arguments than just "fail" - you're making yourself look like the average internet stereotype.

I've had nothing but success from eBay. I got 4 GameCube controllers with extension cables for $20.

Agreed.

If there's one thing Lair has going for it, it is the visuals.

This is Nintendo, they rarely lower prices before 3-4 years after the game is released, the DS has been the only exception. Just look at the Wii itself. it's a GameCube with a remote, yet it costs almost the same as a 360. The fact that it's selling like crazy only compels Nintendo to keep the price static. This is the consumers fault, not Nintendo's. Clever marketing has created a lot rampant Nintendo fanboys ready to eat up any price tag Nintendo puts up.

It costs $750 to manufacture. How much does the Wii? I would think no more than $350.

MP2 was $59.99 even after the Cube was considered dead, so I think Nintendo either waits for the total sales to hit a certain number or they just milk it for what it's worth.

Resistance was a launch title for PS3 and it's still $59.99.

It's hardly more powerful. The VC, Wifi, and other gimmicks can't be that expensive. I understand that it costs more than a GC to produce, but it shouldn't be anywhere near the price of a 360.

the ps3 didn't even cost that much to manufacture at launch. microsoft never sold the 360 at that much of a loss. they're profiting now which means it costs less to make the 360 than it does to sell it. do you have a link to that $750 cost?

Back when the 2 consoles were released there were tons of topics talking about this. I believe the PS3 was supposed to have cost just over $1000 to manufacture. I'm not going to look that up for you, you can verify it yourself, I'm just saying what I remember. Regardless of that, the point is that both cost A LOT more to manufcature than a Wii. Commonsense will tell you that.

Yeah i dont know why it hasnt gone down.

i also dont know why theres no Player's Choice titles.
Haziqonfire
If a game still sells well why would you take away maximum amounts of profit possible by dropping the price? Most big selling games have stayed full price for years, halo for instance was 49.99 for the majority of the original Xbox's lifespan. A game doesn't become a Players Choice or Platinum choice game simply because of high sales. They are given to games that had initially high sales that ultimately dont sell well at full price any more.l The idea is to bring interest back to the title by a lower price point.

When it comes to the technical side of things, it's not that nice. There's slowdown, pop-in, and more.

Why would it be priced less?
It's now worth less?
I don't see how. The presentation ages slightly i guess, but this game isn't just a shell. $50 was a low price to begin with.

its not nintendos choice to lower prices. Its the retailer. Zelda is probably shipping at a very low cost to retailers. but due to high demand, they decide to price it high.

Same with PS2. retailers can if they want price it at £50. but it is still £100 due to demand.

Wow, Nintendo. Isn't it time to lower the price finally? Assassin's Creed sold like hotcakes, and the price went down fairly quickly. In fact, come to think of it...EVERY MAJOR LAUNCH TITLE that was a hit now has a lower price. Not so with teh Twilight Princess though. Nope. And so I don't get owned, I'm referring to the Wii version.

Nintendo has become (or maybe they've always been) greedy bastards. I mean the 360 is not at the same price as the Wii (at least in Sweden) and a Wii has crap hardware and can't even cost half of what a 360 costs to produce.
