The differences look pretty good to me. Things are much more clear and distinguishable. Pre-orders are live at BB and Amazon.
Yep, here's a comparison :
@lundy86_4: Zelda Wii U was confirmed once again today.
March 4, 2016 for the Zelda Twilight Princess HD Wii U. Amazon is sold out already. Bestbuy is still live i think.
Any release date? I expect this to take the place of Zelda U and for Zelda U to move to the NX... Which i'm fine with, so long as it's a release title.
Read somewhere March 2016, but can't confirm that info. You can still pre-order at Best Buy but Amazon is already sold out.
Sweet ****, take my money! Twilight Princess already looks amazing in Dolphin, but this looks even better!
Translation: We have nothing to share on Zelda WiiU, because it's probably going to the NX and we know that's kind of scumbag, but hey we scraped the bottom of the barrel and remastered Twilight Princess. If the struggle gets anymore real, we'll actually humor the idea of remastering shitty ass Skyward Sword, the zelda game you like if you have bad taste.
I was totally expecting it to be there to make up for the announcement that Zelda U was now just going to the NX.
I'm pretty confident it's going to release on both consoles just like Twilight Princess did.
I have to say though, this remaster doesn't look too different than those remasters Sony had done for the PS3.
Lol.... that's all you get for that comment
I too only say lol when i have nothing of value to add.
@Bigboi500: @mesome713:Just read that. I'm behind lol. Not too shabby, though I think I would have preferred they move it, especially if the NX release is coming sooner rather than later.
Thanks for the release date guys... I might have to pre-order this... Though i'll probably find it on release.

This releases March 8 2016. Zelda U was just reconfirmed for the Wii U, and for 2016. Even if it is coming to the NX, it is coming to the Wii U too.
It took them this long to announce TP? Nintendo takes forever to roll out remasters.
What about an actual new Wii U Zelda?

My sentiments exactly.
Spot on, Nintendo is completely disconnected from their fans it's almost as if the executives running the company were old asian men with very little and next to no actual knowledge of the gaming market, who their target audience actually is and what they want.
I expected more out of it tbh. I'm far from a graphics whore, but I'm not going to buy a game I've already bought before for imo such a marginal upgrade unless it's like $30.
Maybe the future info and vids on the game will entice me enough into buying it, but it's going to be a hard sell.
@Legend002: I would say no since Wii U can already play those games. Would be best to save them for future console. We should stick to Gamecube games and older. The game will most likely only support the Gamepad, but im not sure.
It needs some work. I did like the art style but I honestly didn't like the beginning of the game and the wolf sections. The dungeons were nice too and I would put it ahead of some of the other 3D Zeldas except for MM.
My biggest complaint with TP was the sound.
I am also lucky to have owned the GC version.
I like how the video said they handed this HD remake to Tantulus Studios, known for their "great track record."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tantalus_Media
They ported Mass effect 3 and developed Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut on Wii U. I only own DE Wii U and its good. They are familiar with Wii U hardware so thats probably why they got the job
They're probably doing this to pad the Wii U before announcing that Zelda U will be an NX game but make it looked like they supported the Wii U with lots of LoZ love (remakes and third party LoZ games) and the inferior port of an NX focused game.
I, too, like to speculate.
I speculate Microsoft will completely drop the Xbox One next year and completely refuse to acknowledge its existence ever again.
You say this, like what he is saying is so completely out of the question.
It makes no sense to drop the long developed Wii U version and an already established userbase (as small as it is) to magically make a NX exclusive game that suddenly couldnt run on Wii U.
Its stupid and its assuming NX home console is out by Christmas 2016, which it wont.
It took them this long to announce TP? Nintendo takes forever to roll out remasters.
The fact that is stated as if it's a bad thing shows precisely how fucked up this industry is.
Why the **** do people still complain about remasters? The time and budget dedicated to this project didnt replace a brand new game or delayed Zelda Wii U.
Its a cleaner, better running version of a highly acclaimed title for those who want it, and in this case another Zelda thing to look forward for the anniversary. The hell is there to complain about?
Still has horrible textures. It better be 60fps/1080p with zero jaggies. -__-
Not gonna happen, did you ever wonder why Wind Waker HD is 30FPS? That's because the speed of the game is tied to Frame Rate. 60FPS would have the game playing at a 2x speed.
This HD version of TP opens the door for possible future Wii HD rereleases. Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 HD, anyone? Normal controller support?
I think Wii games are off the table because they're just putting the straight BC wii games on the eshop, (and if they did Wii HD releases they'd need to keep motion, nothing wrong with that) but more gamecube games, I could see happening. Twilight princess was a GC title first and foremost.
Although this'll probably be the only one because they just want to be done with the console, and don't care how bad the lineup looks. They could've done quite a few remasters by now.
Wow, I would have been more excited for it if they added more content to it beyond what appears to be a simple upscale and throwing in Amiibo support. I mean, Twilight Princess is by no means a bad game as is now (Definitely not my favorite Zelda game though), but that game REALLY feels like it needs a director's cut version made for it. I'm talking Resident Evil (PS1) to Resident Evil (GC) in terms of visual and content increase.
My problem with Twilight Princess was that it felt like a incomplete game with many ideas modified, removed, and cut short for the sake of fitting everything on Gamecubes tiny disc medium without turning it into a multiple disc adventure AND/OR so the game was ready to be released for Nintendo Wii's launch. For example, I'm pretty sure Nintendo wanted the interaction between Link's wolf form and the animals throughout that world to play a much bigger role than it actually did. Unfortunately, those segment appear to be cut short. Some horseback segments of the game also seem to have been ditched (I was following the game when it was first announced and I'm pretty sure Nintendo released concept art of bosses that were supposed to been up against Link on horseback, again never made appearance) . Then you got that forest which was shown in trailers and early pictures of the game that ended up canned. TP also had a dungeon or 2 that was meant to be in the game but simply got removed (Though I think Nintendo offered one of the dungeons to be playable for the Wii version as downloadable content, or using a hacking device). At the end of the day, Twilight Princess simply felt like a game that had many ideas for it that simply got cut short and didn't turn out the way Nintendo was hoping for when they first chalked up all the ideas they had for the game on the blackboard before they actually started developing it....

Guy, no one said dropped. He said both: WiiU and a NX game, like Twilight Princess.
That looks like a much lazier effort than what they did to wind waker. Twilight Princess aged very poorly visually and needed a better upgrade than that to be presentable.

Read all of it sunshine "and the inferior port of an NX focused game."
Poor wording on his part, considering it would be a TP scenario where the "stronger" console is getting the port, but you get the gist of it.
I skipped this one when it came out. Is it fun?
It's one of the most reviled entries in the series, but I liked it.
I haven't played it since launch so I'm a little hazy on things, but the only part I remember hating was near the beginning. Bunch of boring fetch quest shit. After that I was having fun though.
the firs time they showed it i did think (are they showing the wiiu or the wiiu version there?
but memory is a funny thing as the comparisons have shown. it is quite a significant upgrade. however the zelda u footage also demonstrated that this is a wii engine running on the wiiu. zelda wiiu is quite the upgrade (irs probably running on a modified version of the xenoblade eninge).
personally im not interested though. if i want to play TP i will dig out my wii version.

I got a big South Park vibe there, lol.

The fact that is stated as if it's a bad thing shows precisely how fucked up this industry is.
The fact that people see slow ported remasters as exciting shows precisely how fucked up this industry is.
The long wait for Zelda fans awaiting a brand new exclusive Wii U Zelda has been incredibly disappointing; I would know, I'm one of them and I've discussed this in RL many times with many friends. I would be more forgiving had Wii U's Zelda game released and this was a side deal, but it's not.
This very late remaster (that I have no interest in since I already own the game) wasn't released in a timely way. They could have rolled this out years ago.
It's an insulting hold-them-over and possible save face if they announce the next Zelda is going to be an NX launch game. I already went through this when Nintendo delayed GC's TP for Wii (and then insultingly shelved the GC version of TP I and millions of others had for years for weeks so the Wii could enjoy the port first).
I already own two copies of TP and I don't need a third. Despite my feelings on remasters (I'm not a fan unless they are dirt cheap or I never played it), the fact is these ports cost next to nothing when compared to making a new game, but Nintendo charge a lot and artificially keep the prices high...and it's annoying since I've had the Wii U since launch 2012 and here I am supposed to be excited about another old Zelda port from the GC coming to the Wii U next year.
I bought the N64, GC, and Wii at their launches and I expected much more out of Nintendo this gen. I get that we aren't getting a Metroid (and the Mario 128/Galaxy 3/Sunshine 2 outing probably isn't going to happen, but Super 3D World was fun), but now it's looking like Zelda may be shared with NX or even be moved to NX.
Nintendo is a great game developer, but sometimes I dislike the way they treat their fan-base (like me and others like me who are part of the more silent majority). Sometimes it feels the fans are a little too quick to defend things without taking at least a second to pause and consider what's happening. None of the companies are innocent of course, but the topic is about Nintendo's news for porting TP incredibly late to Wii U.
It makes no sense to drop the long developed Wii U version and an already established userbase (as small as it is) to magically make a NX exclusive game that suddenly couldnt run on Wii U.
Its stupid and its assuming NX home console is out by Christmas 2016, which it wont.
I wasn't saying they're dropping the Wii U version, I'm saying that the game will be made to be a NX launch game like Twilight Princess became a Wii launch game with a GameCube port (but it was a GameCube game the whole time just got delayed and delayed until it was a Wii game). Nintendo is already sending out dev kits. Face it, the NX is getting a 2016 release. I'm saying Nintendo knows that there's going to be a bunch of PO'd Wii U supporters.
That being said, it'd be pretty stupid from Nintendo's end not to release the upcoming LoZ game on the NX, otherwise they're going to have to come up with other killer apps and let's face it, nothing is going to top the hype for this upcoming LoZ game. But, Nintendo has to play it smart. That means not mentioning explicitly it'll be an NX game until the big reveal, in which case they'll probably want to peal the band-aid off as quick as possible and hope people are too excited to care. In some ways, giving people Twilight Princess seems to be them planning a "we're sorry for giving away Legend of Zelda for Wii U to the NX, but here's a consolatory gesture... that you have to pay for".
But hey, come on, it's not stupid at all to think the NX will be out by Christmas 2016, or that LoZ will be delayed until it can release on the Wii U and NX simultaneously.
This just means that the whole generation, the Wii U didn't get one unique made for it Metroid game on the Wii U, one unique made for it LoZ game (unless you count the Koei Tecmo Hyrule Warriors... which I guess we'll have to do now to not feel so bad). No, we got just a bunch of 2D platformers, NSMBU, Luigi U, Donkey Kong Tropic Freeze, Kirby, Yoshi, Mario Maker, I mean **** what's the point of getting an NX if they can't do better? "Oh look the NX now has NSMB in 4K!!"
Not going to lie, I thought they were showing Wii footage that whole time. That is one pathetic excuse for an "HD" version.
Have you actually played the Wii Version? It's a Jaggfest. I'm excited for the higher res visuals, AA and no jags, as well as no MOTION CONTROLS!! I don't care if the actual graphics are the same, I just a smooth looking picture and no motion controls. The Wii version is a freaking Jaggyfest. Thats really all I care about. As long as there's no jaggies and no motion controls, then it's a buy for me.
EDIT
And are you kidding me... it's sold out on BB.com. I have GC, so I wanted to buy it from them
Twilight Princess is the only Zelda game I started and didn't finish.
I kind of want to give this one a try again, but there's nothing that makes me think I'd finish this with a second attempt. The wolf segments really dragged.
For some reason, I really am not excited about this. I love Zelda, but I'm kinda done with HD remasters. It's funny... The Wii U's line up will have twice as many rereleased Zeldas in its library than it will have unique Zeldas... shame.
