I like the AC games a break would be apprciated though.

Honestly, i've reached burn out point with the series. Didn't bother playing Revelations or 3. I'm not pumped for 4 either.

I feel the same way, except I was stupid and bought Revelations anyway. They all just feel the same and I don't feel compelled to play any more of them.

Ubisoft Montreal boss Yannis Mallat does not think gamers are turned off by the idea of a new Assassin's Creed game every year.

I agree, ACIII was a huge dissapointment for me as well. I would rather have quality over quantity when it comes to games like this.

They aren't wrong, though. A look at the sales will say otherwise.

I really think this series needs a break and that's coming from someone who enjoyed AC3. I probably won't bother with this years instalment.

Yaaay, bring on the new AC games every year that will feel half assed or more like an expansion pack but cost the same old $60.

I like the series but at this rate it's going to be drilled into the ground and forgotten. ACIII would have been much better with longer development.

Personally would either like Assassin's Creed to stop existing or for them to finally actually make a great game out of that concept, because it sure as f*ck doesn't exist as of right now.

If people wouldn't want them they wouldn't buy more and more copies of each entry.

If the demands there and people are buying it then it will continue, also harry potter's had its offshoots and side stories that could still be explored if one wished.

While i agree AC should have finished with 3, theres demand for it then give the people what they want.Family Guy and Futurama only ever came back because of this.

And pricetag means nothing despite the fact your attempting to use it as an arguement, simple economics on the other hand will argue if its selling well and people are buying it at £40 a pop every year and the sales are staying rock steady and its profitable why dump it because of a few whiny eejits on an internet forum.

I hate the series getting annual releases, but the story is just too good to miss out. I feel like I'm forced now to play them all. Sometimes I just wish I hadn't got into the franchise in the first place.

Gamers will buy anything that's half decent on an annual basis... hell it doesn't even need to be half decent tbh.

The problem is, they will kill their series quickly.  Do you go for longevity, or run it into the ground while you know the attention is there?

Not every series can be CoD and this wouldn't be the first time UBI nearly ran something into the ground with frequent releases.

I think I got tired of AC after AC2..  Don't really care for more.

If they change enough gameplay wise, and move the story along, then sure.
