Ubisoft reports record first quarter, PC sales surpass Xbox One

PC sales accounted for 24 percent of Ubisoft's total for the quarter, up from 21 percent of the first-quarter total in 2017-18 and behind only the PlayStation 4, which accounted for 38 percent of sales (down from 44 percent in Q1 2017-18). The Xbox One, which barely edged out the PC last year, came in third this time around, accounting for 22 percent of sales by platform.

lol. GWG has already gotten 8 assassin's creed games if you include the chronicles spin-off games. Let's say next month GWG got 4 AC games. That would leave only 1 AC game in the entire franchise GWG hasn't gotten.*

Well, you might want to note that the increase in pc sales comes from

"Ubi reported sales of €400 million ($466 million) for the quarter, driven primarily by continued growth of digital sales and "player recurring investment" [PRI] in "digital items, DLC, season passes, subscriptions, and advertising."" PRI1 net bookings up 51.5% to €125.9 million (33.0% of total net bookings vs. 41.1% in first quarter 2017-18)

But amazing that sheep actually still go grassing on the Ubisoft lawn.

It´s funny that they don´t see a company that is far worse than EA.

If I wanted to, I could make daily Digital Foundry analysis threads that show XB1X thrashing the Pro, like cows did at the start of the gen. Xbox Gamers like Halo, Gear and Forza. Ubisoft not selling well should not surprise anyone!

While MS does seem to be making an endless stream of Forza/halo/gears games, gamers are getting tired of them. And tired of MS' lack of emphasis on more original games, as shown by Xbox' declining sales.

In other words even Xbox fans are tired of the same three franchises over and over.

I dont know if most PC gamers play AAA games, I would be surprised actually to learn that is true but the statement of Indies are not priority for no one. is a bit absurd assertion to make

yeah BUT when you look at how many indies there are + the sales number of said indies. its pretty striking.

Case in point, if you count the number of big hit indie games like Rust, The Forest, Subnautica and just look at how many of them exist, there are more of them then there are of AAA games as of late, THEN look at how many of those sold.

However I think its safe to say that between consoles and PC, that PC are more indie then console. which was the only claim I made. your claiim however is far more specific and grand.

well that is subjective of ones desire to engage in a gameplay or just watch a movie ...;)

but its larger than a lot of people are aware of, I dont think PC gamers are falling over themselves to play ubisoft games but they are falling over themselves to play Rust and the like.

In fact a list I am looking at now has Rust as more sells then GTA 5

The PS4 has double the install base of the Xbox One but the Xbox One is more than half of the revenue of the PS4. So, everything is within expectation. So, what's the problem again?
