changing gaming isn't just about coming up with an idea first. it's also about the influence that a game has.sure, body harvest may have used some of the mechanics that made gta3, but gta3 popularized the sandbox genre, and copycat games cite GTA3 as their influence, rather than body harvest. it's sort of like how kill.switch came up with a good cover system, but gears of war changed gaming by influencing game designers to put in cover systems to "be more like gears of war".
From wikipedia.
Body Harvest is a video game for the Nintendo 64video game console developed byDMA Design (later renamed Rockstar North after the highly successful Grand Theft Auto III).

So they were made by the same comapny? So then who cares?

that first comment is full of ignoranceOk, maybe i gone too far with "kill" (sorry), but Halo surly made PC shooters less popular (at least in US)
...and in terms of shooters i prefere PC too, just look on my card, ofcorse i talking here about first person

using the CoD comparison was stupid. PC shooters have much more depth then console shooters so of corse CoD wont be as popular because they got different target audiencesBody Harvest and DMA ripped off GTA 3 and Rockstar /threadPS2_ROCKSepic fail. body harvest came out first and was made by rockstar
Denial. Halo and GTA3 changed gaming in a way no other has done.ZAGAV3This man is correct. How many people have even heard of Body Harvest, again?

your ignorant comment proves you don't, or probably never played shooters on the PC. you probably just stick with your console shooters and dont know any better.
for us PC gamers however, its easy to spot someone who doesn't play PC games, because they make comments such at that.
What part of his comment is ignorant? Are you claiming that Modern Warfare 2 has sold more on the PC than the consoles? :lol:Oh my, now theres a game i havent heard of in a very long time. Great game.
It also made me remember Forsaken 64. Feeling to bust out the N64 later today.

1980s adverts are soo bad :PSarcasm detectors must be broken today.PS2_ROCKSsorry but its hard to tell if your being serious or not. especially when your on a forum full of people who think stupidly like that
If you mean the game that made a 3D city all open for exploration and gave you the sense of being in an actual"living world",that game was Omikron The Nomad Soul.
And,unlike GTA3,you actualy could interact with the people on the streets(well,it´s an adventure/RPG game,so...),enter diners and eat,go to strip clubs(with actual striping inside),pharmacys, libraries and so on...
One of the best games ever made, although only a handfull of people would agree with this statement.
