i've seen my share of PS3's dying out at my local best buy. no hardware is perfect, some just tend to bust. :?

Actually, people are. I know PS3 have minor problems that can be fix. Screen tearing, No sound, Bluetooth undected, etc. I have problems with the PS3, but so minute that it's not even complaing about. All it takes is a quick restart and it works.

Not everyone comes on the internet whining when their console breaks, I know I wouldn't because it's pointless. Now if I was on my 2nd or 3rd console and it broke, then I could understand it.

26" Sharp LCD HDTV 720p/1080i is really all I know about it. It's actually my brother's that lives in the same house. It was actually running the Motorstorm demo earlier and then when I came back inside to continue Resistance, it froze at a cutscene then kept freezing and freezing.Kojak8888

The logic or lack of it in this place amazes me everytime i drop in. The OP was reporting about a fault he had with his console and wondering if anyone else has experienced the same and all of a sudden every ps3 owner is up in arms over it:roll:

The ps3 is not completely infallible and does go wrong, even break down but it seems that the owners of ps3's have lost all sense of reason.The mearest hint of anything negative about their beloved console see's them all go into meltdown:roll:

So my brand new Playstation 3 just decided to spaz out on me and overheat. Just freezes after about 20 seconds of it being on. The guy on tech support said it happens a lot. Once I told him it starts blinking red after it freezes, he knew what it was :O. Anyone else have this problem?Kojak8888

Get the $20 ones. You are not likely to notice any differance in image quality between them( I can, but thats beside the pont)

I plan on getting a new one, just hope the retailer I got it at will exchange it, otherwise I'm gonna have to go through the warranty :/. It seemed to have problems at the start too, like it wouldn't run on my brother's HDTV correctly - it would have lines going from bottom to the top of the screen, much like a refresh rate line that you'd see when you record a monitor/tv with a camera. Italso had weird sound crackling from it.

Edit: I thought it was because I was using the basic composite cables, but later I got the component cables and it was slightly better because the sound crackling was gone.

Just the standard 1 year warranty on the console. I may be able to return it to Meijer though. I'm not sure on their return policy, hopefully they'll let me do it. The tech support guy said it would be better if I did that because when they send out consoles, they're refurb'd.
