You must have missed the whole Gerstmanngate thing.
No I was here for it. But didn't he do the right thing? To be honest, this doesn't really change the fact that the game is still probably going to be good. Batman: AA this very year had the same thing. No early reviews unless they were positive and we all know how that game turned out. Not like I generally trust reviewers to begin with :P

I don't know. I'd have to say Gamespot is pretty credible. I trust them when it comes to reviewsGS gave AC a 9:|...a 9. thats credible? Look, we could all point to some review at ANY source and laugh at it. That doesn't discredit the source in any way, it just establishes you happen to have a different opinion about a single game.[QUOTE="Animal-Mother"][QUOTE="awssk8er716"]

I don't know. I'd have to say Gamespot is pretty credible. I trust them when it comes to reviewsGS gave AC a 9:|...a 9. thats credible? Your point? In all honestly the game gets hated on too much. I don't know. I'd have to say Gamespot is pretty credible. I trust them when it comes to reviewsGS gave AC a 9:|...a 9. thats credible? AC was a great game. Interesting story/setting, great combat, excellent graphics, fantastic free roam/climbing..the only parts that were bad were mission types, but even then, half of them were *optional* after the 1st kill. AC gets alot of hate for something that nearly every other game does. It was an awesome game, and cliffhangers in games are no worse than cliffhangers in movies/tv.[QUOTE="Animal-Mother"][QUOTE="awssk8er716"]

Thats actually a really bad thing to do on Ubi's part, not because of any wrong morals values or anything, but its just potentially really harmful to them. Knowing the most popular sources these days, its not gonna do any of them pain to review one less game in a November(busiest time of the year for them), and if the game doesn't get reviewed AT ALL it could mean a lot less sales.

Jus sayin.

Oh sorry, I tried the search before making it but you know how this sites search feature is.... eh.
Funny thing about it is Ubisoft is not the only one who does this in fact many other companies do so you can't exactly hate them for it and it's my main reason i don't listen to reviews from the top magazines and gaming sites. If you want a credible review and a honest opinion you're better off to go to youtube and check what people have to say about the game or some not so popular site that reviews games.
Kane and lynch anybody? Most users should know about the huge shibang which happend at gamespot over that.
The first one was so repetitive. I stopped playing after i got to damascus. AC1 and GTAIV were this generations most overrated

No I was here for it. But didn't he do the right thing? Yea, someone want to enlighten me on it again? I have actually forgotten. =P Though, I think he did the right thing, but he wasn't meant to do the right thing. That would have a blow on Gamespot's credibility. I mean, you wouldn't go and buy a game from a place which TRIED to sell their other games at $200 each, you would at least think they can't be trusted, right? Checking up with other prices from other stores, etc.I don't get what is so bad with what Ubisoft wants. Put yourself in their shoes. You wouldn't want someone else telling the WHOLE WORLD that your product sucks, especially when that person has an OPINION. Reviews matter to a lot of people. It's the same as saying that your favourite game was Lair, but no one even gave it a shot because of some reviews, ie. opinions. Ah well. It doesn't really bother me. Assassins Creed 2 will be a great game, IF they improved from the first. The only thing I found bad about the first was it got boring quickly because it was repetitive. It seems like they have added more to do, so that's enough for me to buy it.
EDIT: I didn't read what ever links were given by TC/posters. But if Ubisoft is actually "Demand"[ing] it then that would be bad. Only because "Demand" is quite a negative term, depending on context. Then again, the media spins everything. I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoftmerely asked, stated or commented on something about it and the media just changed it to "demand".

I would have gave it the same score, personally. This my friends. Is doubt. Doubt that their game will be any good. I wouldn't be surprised if ubisoft bribed gamespot with AC's 9.0 score or even just paid them.
AC1 was a 7.0 at best. Such a highly repetative game doesn't deserve a 9.0. It looks like AC2 is not going to improve upon AC1 in any way. Ubisoft an their doubts just prove this.
I wonder if people here and on other gamer websites realize that only about 2% of the worlds gaming population is on forums and cares about scores that someone else gives a game?

Casuals rule the gaming market. I think everyone realizes that. I would laugh if AC2 got zero reviews but they have the means to buy out people so...

I don't care if Ubisoft isn't the only publisher/dev to demand high scores from reviewers the practice is disgusting. If you want to protect your investment make your game worth the 90 or an A. I also don't trust gamespot reviews after the whole Kane and Lynch episode for reviews I go to Ign, Giantbomb, and even 1up. I didnt even like the first Assassin's Creed but if I did this thing wouldnt cause me to boycott. I'm still thinking about getting this one as it might be better.
This is just another thing plaguing the gaming industry for everone along with SOME DLC practices, gamers hating on every big name game without reasonable arguements...

no man, its been alot different since the kane and lynch debacle, they were outright busted, and everyone credible left. You think they would have let any of these new guys come in if they werent gonna do what the man says?
