Detecting sarcasm hasn't so much to do with level of education as it is about the perception of the other person's intelligence. And we're in System Wars - a place we do not go to expecting really bright people. It's safer to assume that a silly statement was deliberate rather than an act of sarcasm.

It's not going to be doomed. Both of Microsoft's previous consoles were great successes. The bigwigs over there have their heads screwed on straight and know what they are doing.
