[QUOTE="siLVURcross"]That's the problem, it looks like a shooter instead of the "psychological horror" game we've been expecting.CleanPlayer
This. It was never a psychological "horror", so you were expecting something that it wasn't supposed to be in the first place. And how did you expect the gameplay to be? It's still a psychological game. :? I guess people wanted Heavy Rain quick-time event 2.0.
And from another thread...
I just don't know what the hell they were expecting. Of course it'll look like a 3rd person action game, because, duh, that's what it's always been. The game has never been about revolutionizing anything. It's been a psychological-based action game with combat taking place at night and mystery/puzzle gameplay taking place during the day. It's not a horror game. It's not a psychological horror. It's a psychological game akin to The Secret Window. The story is 100% psychological in the same vein of said movie. Sam Lake's writing will be superb here, and the 3rd person gameplay, while not revolutionary, will be just as awesome as Max Payne, but brought up to modern day. And since it's a psychological game, we all know how the game will turn out and just why you need the flashlight to use on "enemies". Let's just say that Alan Wake is a troubled, troubled man.
