No one's gonna tell me that the Souls series is a 'niche' title anymore. This is by a metric ton superior title to anything released since both consoles came out, thanks gawd its selling.

It is pretty incredible not to mention its been in the top 3 selling game at amazon for over a month now i believe

But keep in mind Bloodborne was out for only TWO days and made it that high.. VERY impressive going against many multiplatforms especially borderlands being released same time and on TWO platforms.

Well, I jest, but you're right, I am ignorant, but no more so than anybody else that doesn't have quantitative data to go on. I do expect it to do much better given its stellar critical reception, the hype behind, and simply the fact that it's a new game. But, there are slow weeks in the UK where the leading tracked port of a game can top the charts around 10K. That's why I kind of find these ranking systems not very informative.

I fully expect Bb to sell between 1 to 1.5 million.

Knack sold better than that, this can do a lot better, or should anyways.

Knack sold 1 million, but also because it was a launch title so hype was on it's side. In comaprison, Killzone SF sold 2 million units.

However, other exclusives on both ps4 and xb1, like inFamous SS, DR3, etc, sold abit over 1 million.

BB is a Souls game, so niche by default, and exclusive to one platform. 1-1.5M is about right for the game.

FIrst triple-A PS4 exclusive. PS4 owners have obviously been waiting for games, so they're clamouring for it. I can't imagine a game like this legitimately appealing to a mass audience. Not saying it's a bad game, it's just a genre not many people are into.

Infamous SS sold 1.2 mil in only 9 days of being released ( as confirmed by Sony ) probably over 2 mil by now

but anyways I expect it to sell 2 to 3 million i mean it is reported on neogaf that BB outsold Dark Souls 2 on release and that game was on two systems.

Bloodborne outsold Dark Souls 2, which was on two consoles with far bigger install bases.

Interesting to see The Order rise.

Anyway, it outsold by a small margin in the UK. DS1 sold 2.3 million units across the world, with 3 platforms and the DLC included.

DaS2 sold 1 million units on PC, but we've only heard about how it sold 1.2M 1 month after the PC launch, which was 2 months after the ps360 release. So 3 months for 1.2M sales.

At this point, if DaS2 had sold 3 million units, we'd probably have heard from Namco.

The series tends to sell 1-1.5M on a single platform. 2M on the ps4 alone would be a huge jump, not just in terms of other Souls titles, but other console exclusives.

I'm not even saying this has a negative btw. With those sales, i bet From and Sony would be extremely happy. I'm sure they're not expecting a 5+ million mega franchise out of this.

You missed the news? :P infamous was a huge success in a matter of days not even months from being released and it came out on a console with less installbase than the PS3

I think you'll be in for a huge surprise with BB though. i stay with my prediction 2 to 3 million to be the biggest souls game.

22k difference is pretty big in the UK.

Hardline had 4 days more being out at retail and is on 5 systems while Bloodborne was out for 2 days and came out on 1 system so....

This is why developers are daft... They could have doubled their profits by releasing it on X1 and PC.

Sony funded and co developed it. So yeah, money did come out of Sony's pockets. But it wan't a case of simply buying console exclusivity like they did for SFV.

Sony needs to announce a price drop for this holiday season to continue its beat down on the XBONED. Burn M$.................BURN.

The PlayStation 4 has been barren in terms of exclusive games, and the ones it has had have been.... Well you know, not exactly great.

Bloodborne was selling the way it was predominantly because hype and there being nothing else. People who don't like Souls games and knew this wouldn't change with Bb still bought it, including myself.

The craze has worn off, the impulse sales have ceased, people have seen it, people have played it, word of mouth has spread to those who were on the fence and didn't like Souls games and now they know for sure they still will not...

This games run as a mainstream product has come to an end, you should see the level at which this game is being traded in. There were 13 used copies at the closest GameStop to me, there are another four stores within 5 miles of it and I'm sure it's just as bad there.

Thinking this game was going to appeal to that 99th percentile was a pipe dream, they hate it, they don't want it, they're getting rid of it. Check your local Craigslist, I'll bet it's littered with people offloading this game, mine is.

It's still niche, it's still only liked by the people who liked the other games and still despised by the people who didn't. Nothing has changed, the only thing this game accomplished is mass marketing and hype to bring in sales from people hoping this game would be different just to find out it's not...

It's not a bad game and it has its place in the market, but you people need a dose of fucking reality. Normal people don't like this kind of game, they essentially got suckered into buying it and are getting rid of it at an alarming rate...

Those high sales numbers posted, they won't continue in any capacity, the mainstream interest surrounding this game is no more.

That's why it's a prediction, they can be wrong, a lot of people I have talked to who actually like Souls games have said things had become stale, maybe Bb was just enough to change that. 800,000 is still realistic, especially considering the trade in/used market for this game is huge right now due to people not exactly knowing what they were buying and getting rid of it because they didn't like it.

Here's the deal dude, this is about this game, this has nothing to do with the console it is on, this could have been a multi-plat and I would still be relentless with it, people drum these games up much more than they deserve.

I'm not saying they're bad because they're not, they have an appeal and a place in the market for certain people, but the constant talking as if it's the greatest thing on Earth only applies to the little bandwagoner niche that enjoys these games, for everyone else it's irrelevant and not good hence why the 99th percentile does not like/play them. Either way you're way off base with your judgement of me, I own and love my PlayStation 1, 2, 3 & 4, they're great and have a lot to offer. However I think the PlayStation 4 has been hyped beyond belief, didn't deserve its sales whatsoever just for the sheer lack of exclusive content and the content available was objectively poor, plus Sony has been very vacant in terms of updating the console and adding to it.

That doesn't mean I hate the PlayStation 4, I am just extremely underwhelmed by it.
