And it only took a price cut to do it.....Sad thing is the UK is the only country in Europe that wants the flopbox. Even game makers are thinking about not releasing games for the flopbox outside the UK. The flopbox 360 is dead in europe.

I think it says more about consumers than it does about the 360. If they were all like me, they would know how weak the PS3 is without swallowing Sony's BS, and buy a 360 - I can't educate them all though, just the people I come into contact with.

Read the article people. 55% of the PS3's sales this year came in the first 4 days....in the 6 MONTHS following it hasn't managed to sell as many as it did in the first 96 HOURS.

This says to me that either:

a) The Sony faithful bought it at launch and there is very little interest with others because of price.

b) The Sony faithful bought it at launch and there is very little interest with others because it offers little in the way of decent games.

Spin this as you will but the PS3 is tanking over here. I have a good sized group of gaming friends (around 20 I talk to on a regular basis) and i'm the only one with a PS3.....and the only reason I have one is for Bluray and my need to complete the console set each generation.

With the new 360's out here, a price drop in effect, Halo 3 and a slew of other great titles on the way (including ME) I just do not see how the PS3 is going to claw its way out of last place.

Flopbox seriously??? Theres a lot of lame 360 owners I admit but jeez some of you cows that are left clinging just to their PS3 console are quite lame themselves. I think most of the decent owning PS3 owners also own a 360/Wii. It seems when a massive crowd moves ground it just leaves 70% idiots.

Little harsh I know but nobody bar cash shortages would not own a 360 atm. I will own all and I cant wait fora tonne of PS3 releases. But the 360 has a large list of great games that many can be picked up for as little as £10-20 now. 360 is not a flopbox well I cant see how seens its already hit near over 50% of the sales of Xbox.

The only reason MS will fail this gen is because of hardware issues. IF they fix that and fix their reputation with the public then it will crush the PS3 this gen.

It would be a travesty of epic proportion though if the 360 lost out to the PS3 when it basically does everything better AT THE MOMENT. I'd like to see MS and Sony neck and neck fighting for the top spot. This would be great for me, the consumer. However Sony became arrogant and are now paying the price regardless of what some analyst says about the state of things.

if the 360 is so terrible, and North America is the only country that plays it, why is it still holding its own in Europe? and what does that say about the PS3?

i don't know how much they are in europe but 600 system isn't going to sell as much 400 system with games. and the ps3 is much higher in europe. Look the ps3 was able to have identical sale with the 360 at a higher price. The 360 has always been cheaper and recently got cheaper. which means a surplus in sales. I don't know how else to explain it.
