Unbiased Thoughts on the Crysis vs Uncharted 2 Debate

I have played both games on my friends 42" HDTV, and they both look incredible. Personally, I like the way Uncharted 2 looks more, but have to admit that Crysis looks technically more realistic. The thing you have to remember is that Crysis may have come out in 2007, but it was built for future PC's. People with new hardware are still having trouble maxing Crysis out and getting decent fps.

So take my opinion how you will. Uncharted 2 is nicer to look at, but not as realistic. :\

The only reason this is still an arguement at all is because console fanboys are completely desperate to continue competing graphically, when really they've been graphically outdone by crysis and other pc games for a long, long time.

It's like trying to compare apples and sportscars. Technically, Crysis absolutely blows Uncharted 2 away. However, I do happen to like the way Uncharted 2 looks better than I like the way unmodded Crysis looks.

I also happen to think, though, that Zeno Clash and Machinarium look better than both of those two. But that's just an artstyle preference, so I wouldn't make an arguement for it in a graphics discussion.

Uncharted 2 looks amazing and I don't think Crysis compares to it. Just my two cents.

I think the fact there is examining of a game running on fixed hardware from 2006 against a game running on hardware that is constantly improving from 2007 and beyond tells which is the greater technical achievement.

You know, I would agree with you but you said destroyed. That is an opinion added to what would be nearly fact. And there really arent many more PC games better looking than Uncharted 2 and I do not blame its hardware, but its developers that dont push the hardware forward on the PC.

Crysis has better graphics and is more realistic, but Uncharted 2 is simply amazing on a good HD and impresses the naked eye,

Once again, the majority of what you're seeing of Crysis is not contemporary. Vanilla Crysis is something most gamers got over in 2007.

It's also a fact Crysis with 2007 hardware still looks better than Uncharted 2.

Uncharted 2 doesn't come close to matching Crysis technically. On the art side of things, tastes differ from person to person so some will find Uncharted 2 visually more appealing to them. Though you can't use that in arguments since it's subjective.

Playing crysis at 1900x1200 looks way better than playing uncharted on 720p.

But I love the look of uncharted 2, some parts were really jawdropping

the hunted mod on PC for ut3 looks onpar with uncharted 2. crysis can not be matched technically its the most realistic looking game to date.

I think most Cows know that Crysis is a more technically advanced/high end game, however Uncharted 2 is the most advanced console game out there. Both games are technically advanced for what they do, but Crysis has more power backing it to do more hardware intensive effects.

I really wish we could just leave it as Uncharted 2 being the console graphics king, it is the power of Cell indoctrinated fanboys that are causing all the headaches.

On a technical standpoint, if you've ever seen crysis on a resolution like 2560x2048 range. You will know that nothing comes close to touching it.Deadly_Fatalis

They can't be compared in shape or form. One is an sandbox-esque FPS the other is a linear action/adventure game. They each are better than the other at entirely different things.

You could look at Jessica Biel and then at Rosie O'donnel, whichever you prefer is entirely up to you, I won't judge but you'd be kidding yourself to think that as far as human beauty goes (Size, shape, hairstyle, body) Rosie O'donnel is better looking. I think this applies to Crysis Vs. U2, you may prefer the way one looks over the other but technically speaking (Physics, Ai, animations, character models, textures, lighting, resolution, scale) one is just light years ahead of the other.

Iron Man and Crysis are in different genres to they can't be compared. Iron Man is simply average at what it is while Crysis is good at what it is.

You could look at Jessica Biel and then at Rosie O'donnel, whichever you prefer is entirely up to you, I won't judge but you'd be kidding yourself to think that as far as human beauty (Size, shape, hairstyle, body) goes Rosie O'donnel is better looking. I think this applies to Crysis Vs. Uncharted 2 is also a beautiful game, and Crysis is superior but light years is an extreme exaggeration.

Iron Man and Crysis are in different genres to they can't be compared. Iron Man is simply average at what it is while Crysis is good at what it is.

Crysis is great FPS while Uncharted 2 is a great Action-Advanture game. They are uncomparable so one can't be 'better' than the other. That's why we only see graphics comparison for these games, since that's the only aspect that can be compared.

I think Uncharted 2 was meant to be Rosie since Crysis excels above Uncharted 2 in the visual aspects he mentioned.
