It was bugged on release. Since then patches and mods have really made the series shine.

I have played both games on my friends 42" HDTV, and they both look incredible. Personally, I like the way Uncharted 2 looks more, but have to admit that Crysis looks technically more realistic. The thing you have to remember is that Crysis may have come out in 2007, but it was built for future PC's. People with new hardware are still having trouble maxing Crysis out and getting decent fps.

So take my opinion how you will. Uncharted 2 is nicer to look at, but not as realistic. :\

I think Uncharted 2 was meant to be Rosie since Crysis excels above Uncharted 2 in the visual aspects he mentioned.

Crysis is technologically better. I think Uncharted 2 is MUCH more aesthetically pleasing, especially some of the parts in Nepal. Lethalhazard

I agree. While Crysis may completely outclass U2 when it comes down to technical specs I find U2 looks prettier.

I'm not saying that U2 has better graphics, I am just saying that the attention to detail and the environments are incredible and very nice to look at, more so than Crysis.

personally i think the haunted MOD for unreal tournament 3 looks better the UC2(looks better then orignial game to lol)

this is another great example of why pc gaming is objectively better than console gaming. stalker was a very bad game when it was released, but it had some incredibly good ideas, and would have been fantastic if it had been better produced and given more production time. on the consoles, that game would be a throwaway. on the pc, it blossomed into one of the best single-player fps of all time because of a modding community.

I think the fact there is examining of a game running on fixed hardware from 2006 against a game running on hardware that is constantly improving from 2007 and beyond tells which is the greater technical achievement.

that deserves a big 10-4. Uncharted looks great based on that. Hardware put togather in 2006 to compete with a game designed in 2007 for future pc use.

Well, actually, whether or not you believe in God, that picture had a lot of man made influences in it. You could call it man made nature in a way. Unless one would find the symmetry above to be natural.

Ok, here goes.

This is what Crysis really looks like at 1920*1080, maxed out (actually it's CCC mod level 5 which looks better than vanilla maxed), no AA.

It's playable but fps can go as low as 20 on an I7 920 and a GTX285 (The best single core gfx card available till recently).

Bottom line: Crysis is a good looking game but it does show it's age a bit and many many many pictures of it (including ones in this thread) are bullshots (in the sense that you actually do need a bazillion$ rig to make them playable while looking like that).
