That's disappointing, an expansion (still getting it tho) and a racing game (which I have no interest in). Mass Effect 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are the only others I can remember right now... Sigh, I need a PS3, so many great games coming out (UC2, MAG, Demon Souls, Heavy Rain, ect)

Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 also got good reviews but they were really average games that were forgotten almost immediately.

Uncharted 2 should've been a 16 hour epic adventure.... now it's just another 10 hour action adventure.

IGN never really spoils a game. Unless you count showing some gameplay spoiling. The site you must stay away from for spoilers is gametrailers. Man are thier video reviews spoilerific.

Oh. My. God. I knew it would be great but this just looks ******* amazing. The range of environments, the quality of the voice acting, the awesome set pieces... Uncharted is one of my top 5 games this generation, but this just looks to take everything in the first one to a whole new level. I already know the MP is great but the single player is where it's at and it looks sooooo damn good.

It's impossible to talk about Uncharted 2 without mentioning its visuals. I've already touched on the fantastic presentation in the cutscenes, but there are some scenes that you'll play in that will have your jaw on the floor. The world is packed with bits of detail that do nothing for gameplay, but do a lot to draw you into the world and make you feel like this is a real place. The texture detail is astounding, the amount of random stuff everywhere is mind boggling, the lighting is some of the best we've ever seen and the overall art direction is phenomenal. And of course, let me not forget to mention the amazing animation, killer explosions and pretty much every other pixel on the screen.

It's kind of amazing to say this, but the actual gameplay oftentimes looks better than the cutscenes. This is truly one of the best looking games that I've ever seen, and you could easily argue that it's the best overall on the PlayStation 3 (when you can argue that against the likes of Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4, well, that's saying something).

a tens perfect and the game isn't perfect? i've noticed when the games hit mid and upper 9's reviewers generally take off a small amount to account for the little things they notice here and there that don't usually detract from the gameplay (the save points in these 2 levels were a bit too far apart/platforming mechanics in this area are a little difficult/bad camera for a second in this area etc) but are imperfections in the game. personally i've never played a perfect game but i've played some really really good ones. definitely a day 1 for me though, the first game was fun and if the second is that much of an improvement over the first then im hooked.

The point I like to make is was GTA4 and MGS4 perfect?

MGS4 is my favorite game this gen but it wasn't perfect.

Personally, I think no game is razor perfect and is why I normally consider a 9.5 about the best possible score you can realistically give a game these days. But, I have to agree that from the way the review is written, it seems as if it would have been fairly easy to slap a 10 on it. Still a .5 difference either way and they go so far as to state it as being one of the best games of the gen as well. Not words to be taken lightly in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing for myself. No doubt a day 1.

After reading the written review, it seems like it should have gotten an even higher score.

I wouldn't be surprised if it got less than 9 on gamespot.

Back in the day people said they didnt want a PS3 because it lacked games, lacked quality AA-AAA games, and it was too expensive.

Now here we are with a cheaper price, AAA games everywhere, great exclusives such as MGS 4, Uncharted series, Resistance Series, Rat and Clank, KZ 2, Heavenly Sword, InFamous, the upcoming Demon's Souls, Heavy Rain, GOW 3, GT5, etc.

The real question is how can you come up with a vaild reason to hate all this?

My PS3 might only do everything but it excels most at dust collecting right now. I will for sure pick this title up though, me loves platforming.
