That about covers what I'd like to see from the next Uncharted.
enemies need to be easier to kill... No more of these BS juggernaught guys that take 20 shots with a shotgun to kill.. The were annoying and kind of took me out of the experience and reminded me Im playing a videogame.. if that makes sense
I honestly enjoyed the supernatural sense they brought in the games. Especially in Uncharted 1.IMO..
All uncharted will need to improve is
- more interesting/challenging puzzles that aren't already solved for you in that little booklet (which they addressed in the link you provided)
- Unique plot (not like SOTC, but more alongside the Hollywoord blockbuster theme they've been going for....just not the same plot with the same plot progression like they've shown between Uncharted and Uncharted 2)
- (stemming off the plot thing: no silly supernatural/mutants/monster nonsense.)
- indepth/challenging platforming.
- Dynamic cover would be fun to see. Flip over tables, open windows/doors, use wheelbarrows/carts.
That about covers what I'd like to see from the next Uncharted.

Whats wrong with having puzzle solutions in the notebook? You don't have to use it o.o and it stops things from getting frustrating.I never really had a problem with the cover system. But I do want me some local co-op.
Make it happen, Naughty Dog.

What I didn't like about the cover system is sometimes I'd want to take cover, and drake would roll. Or, I would want to roll, and drake would take cover.
I've had so many times where I wanted to roll through a door in multiplayer, and all my character did was cling to the wall by a doorway, then I'd press circle again to uncling to the wall, but my character would just go to the other side :x
It didn't happen all the time, but they could make it so you have to hold circle to cling to walls and cover, and just tap it to roll or something, would be less frustrating for me :P
1. I agree even though I felt that it was good enough in the first game. But I said this about Gears 1 aswell. After playing the sequel and noting the difference, I can say that this is a big point. I'm sure ND will nail this.
2. I agree. Part of what made UC2 feel epic for me was the large varied enviroments and locations. I loved it.
3. I agree that if the stealth should find its why into the game at all, that ND needs to pull out all of the stops to make it better.
4. Agreed. I like the complex puzzles that serve as a break in the nonstop violence and set Uncharted apart from all other TPS games and make me feel like I'm really working for the treasure.
5. Yes and this could work. 90% of the time in Uncharted 1 & 2, Drake had at least one companion with them. If ND built this game from the ground up with co-op in mind like Epic does with Gears, then it would be awesome.
6. I don't care. Move to me is stupid just like all motion gaming and hardly anyone has 3DTVS. I just want the game to look pretty enough on my 40" 1080p and have good enough controls on the ps3's standard controller.
7. Sounds cool to me. Just as long as I can still go at the enemy the old fashioned way if I choose and this doesn't drastically change the gameplay.
8. Don't care. Online Co-op and multiplayer are good enough for me. I like having the full screen for myself.
9. Never played DS but this sounds cool. Only if this is for some seperate mode though. I'd keep this out of the main story campaign.
10. Sounds stupid. As for as myths are concerned, ND can just keep delivering us mythical treasures and locations.
I wish the shootouts were designed with different paths in mind. For example you could move cover to cover on the ground with an assault rifle or you could climb up to a vantage point and pick off enemies with a sniper or you could sneak behind them all and toss a grenade between them.
Just add some antialiasing. Uncharted 2 is one of the games I wouldn't mind having a bit of a blurry/toned down look as colorful as it is.
That is my main concern, I am afraid they are going to try so hard to top UC2 that somehow they are going to ruin UC3. Lets hope they do not try to re-invent the wheel. Honestly, they should do very little to the game engine itself, outside of small refinements. They should really try and focus mainly on making a kick-ass story and maybe lengthen the game a bit. Also, they should put some more time and focus into the multiplayer portion of the game. They did a great job last time, especially for their first go on Uncharted multiplayer, but theier were quite a few things they could have done to make it truly shine. Uncharted 2 was so damned near-perfect that I am really terified that they will somehow screw up the magic formula that made it such a masterpiece. As long as they keep the pace of UC2 in this game and make a stellar story, they really cannot go wrong.Though it would be nice to see any improvements, I'm honestly far more concerned about it being able to remain on the second's level for the whole.

You have to use it unless you're into trial and error...which is basically what most puzzles are like in Uncharted if you don't use the notebook...
they never work up to a solution....they just get solved when you solve them and that's about it. (let's keep rotating these dials until we come to the right combination)
puzzles are meant to engage the mind. I want to see them implement puzzles that you slowly piece together yourself based on information you've gathered/come across during your in-game adventures. I don't want a random puzzle that all of a sudden exists in that notebook.
Think God of War 3's water puzzle (as a more recent example), you're completely oblivious of what you're doing until you get the first click. Then you realize what you have to do since you've noticed something has altered. As a result you try to find a way to get the next "click." The more you progress, the more you realize what you have to do. That's what a good puzzle in a game is like.

I was able to be the best in UC2 matches without depending on perks, so no. In fact I'd like them to get rid of perks if anything. Too many developers rely on that gimmick this gen instead of just making an overall balanced game.

Honestly, I wouldn't want the puzzles in uncharted to become any more difficult. It would detract from the action of the game far too much. I thought the whole notebook thing was a great idea. Puzzles just aren't something everyone is going to be happy about.considering there were only two viable perks if you wanted to be the best in UC 2, nah it wasn't really balanced.[QUOTE="Dead-Memories"]

No thanks, perks are fine the way they are.
I agree with everything except Demon Souls idea and the last one. I wouldn't mind 3D since I don't even have a 3DTV and Move eh, I'll stay optimistic.Luxen90

i'd like to see how you beat competent players 1v1 in firefights without fleet foot for the strafe aiming. you must have been playing some terrible kids.i'd like to see how you beat competent players 1v1 in firefights without fleet foot for the strafe aiming. you must have been playing some terrible kids.

Co-op please! Uncharted is a game that people like to watch while you play-- it is very pretty and cinematic. It would be great if your friends could play along instead of just watching.

1) Agree. the puzzles in UC2 are just plain stupid.
2) Plot should be more epic, a la GoW3. in the sense that Kratos is going against the gods. prolly Drake going after some totally rich mogul or something.
3) after having established that as a recurring theme, i don't think Naughty Dog will remove that. it's always there. besides, it could get repetitive trying to always shoot bandits or whatever. fans will get angry if they left that out. also, i LOOOOVED the zombies in UC1. it was so nerve-racking. i thought i was playing Dead Space for a moment there. ooohhhh...i loved that. too bad in UC2 you had to use a crossbow or something. with UC1 all you needed was a shotgun! :)
4) platforming in UC2 is pretty straightforward. i don't think it'll have much improvement in the sense that it's not a Mario game where you can have moving platforms since it's going for realism (and apparently, there are no floating islands or moving platforms in real life), so prolly not gonna happen. and it's hard enough to think of ways to make the platforming more challenging if you can't have some Mario elements in it. i want the platforming to be challenging as well, but im not getting my hopes up.
5) the cover in UC2 is good enough for me. i think it's awesome. so fluid and you can pretty much take cover on anything. also, you can flip over tables in UC2, so...
what i want are more variety in weapons (although i don't know how they'll do that). more adventure and exploration aspects apart from the puzzles. secret areas. i want more epic scenes like the train and the helicopter/building scene from E3, i want more Sully, probably a driving section instead of you shooting while on the vehicle. i want to see underwater exploration and combat (i don't know why we barely have games like that this gen. i mean, i have yet to see underwater stuff this gen! wth is going on?!). oh, and i want more stealth sections.
in short, i want the game to be longer. i don't care about the pacing since little of us will play the game for 12 hours straight. i want a 20-hour game and i don't mind the pacing since i have limited time so i'll play this game for 3 hours then stop then play it again for 2-3 hours on another day.

that puzzle in GoW3 was prolly the best puzzle in the game. compared to the previous GoWs, GoW3 had the easiest puzzles. i loooooove GoW1 puzzles. prolly the most challenging in the series.
I like the idea of a splitscreen campaign and splitscreen online. I think he is asking for too much in some of the things though. The game is already great, if they try to add too much things it might suck. Quantity doesn't equal quality.
They made two great games before, I'm sure they can do it again.
It should keep the twists. That's what makes in Uncharted. No more "twists"...it was a twist the first time not the second time.

no, they did a pretty good job already making a great, solid multiplayer. :D Then after patch 5 or 6 it was just decent :(
EDIT: and me personally hated demon's souls online, and the game itself :P
