Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

I don't Know how this is going to work: Little Big Planet 2, Killzone 3, inFAMOUS 2, The Last Guardian, Twisted Metal, Ico Collection, Resistance 3, SOCCOM 4, Mototstorm, Ratchet & Clank, MLB 2011: The Show! All in one Year? Surely some of theses are getting delayed? This is like two years of major lineups combined into one.ycole11

Maybe then it will contribute to the SW metagame and restore order to what it was. And cows will gain back their confidence. Too much hating on the PS3 these days I tell you.

I was waiting for this moment to come to ask this question and start the new trend :P

for the past 4 years, this is the first time the best two third person action games meet in the last man standing match, this is for the first time the proper battle.

which game will be victorious?

I watched the 5 minutes of the extended warzone gameplay (UC2's PS3 DEMO) that came out about 8 months or so before Uncharted 2 was released and was so impressed by everything that I saw (mainly because of the cinematic blend with action, simple yet effective set pieces, AND superior animation. What's this like the 12th or 13th PS3 exclusive game for 2011. ND are going to have to bring it to top Uncharted 2 so, I look forward to seeing if they can.

can't wait for this game, but this might be really delayed until early 2012 lol (think about it).

1) I don't think ND wants to kill themselves again on this game (UC2 took 18 months to make).

2) Too many Sony exclusive releases close together (UNLESS Winter 2011 is all clear).

On the other hand:

Release your game before GeoW3 to steal the thunder

AND they've been working on the same engine for 6 years and are nearly masters of the cell/gpu so they might be done with this game in 6 months.

Great year to be a gamer. RAGE, Crysis 2, Gears 3, Killzone 3, Diablo 3, Dead Space 2, Twisted Metal, The Last Guardian and now Uncharted 3 which will be GOTY!!! I know i missed so many games.

I don't think Naughty Dog has anything to worry about. UC2 had the same dev time and still did what it was set out to do. Sales wise and scores wise. They're that talented. :)

If anything, 2009 had Killzone 2, MLB 2009: The show, inFAMOUS, Ratchet and Clank, and the God of War collection and they all went to break the 1 million range (probably except Ratceh & Clank). And UC2 sold 4 million and won countless of wards overshadowing almost evry game released in that year.

Including Batman Arkham Asylum, Modern Warfare 2, Resident Evil 5, Assassin's Creed 2, etc.

So let's just assume the same pattern will continue :P

i believe the trailer just confirmed something's being shown at the Spike Video Game Awards. man even the trailer got me hype and there wasn't a lick of gameplay...... is 2011 here yet

Drake's Deception will def. be AMAZING, but nothing is certain yet! Naughty Dog are striving to outdo themselves no doubt. I particularly like this bit of info:

Taking place in the desert, Nathan Drake will follow the footsteps of Sir Francis Drake and T.E. Lawrence. The same man of 'Lawrence of Arabia' fame, Drake's Deception will follow the history of the man during his British exploring days. It will feature incredible animation of organic elements, such as water, sand, and fire. It came out of an inspiration for Naughty Dog to push themselves as hard as possible. Why? Naughty Dog's co-president Evan Wells said "[Because] We're a bunch of nerds."

The game will feature new innovation elements to the series, rather than a new skin on Among Thieves. Several new things, including enhanced backward climbing and the ability to fight multiple baddies at once, will be introduced to the series. Online elements will definitely play a major role in the new game, so cooperative and competitive multiplayer will be a major focus for the game. Wells said, "We want to be in the big boys, with Halo and Call of Duty."

I just hope this one has better platforming/puzzle solving. It needs to be more than just a third person shooter again for me to be interested in a third game. Gunplay and set-pieces of Uncharted 2 with platforming and puzzle solving as good as say, the Tomb Raider series = win.

I like the idea of basing the story off of lawrence of Arabia. But realisticlly, its never going to be possible to properly give justice to the man in the kind of story.

I agree UC2 was a much better game than Gears 2.

Gears 3 will have 4 co-op though, that is really interesting to me but Im with you here, the Uncharted series became one of the best so I say Uncharted 3 too :D

I actually cannot wait, UC2 has probably been my game of the generation and I always knew UC3 was coming but the mere announcement has got me hyped. This announcement has made my day.

As for the imminent duel to the death between Gears 3 and Uncharted 3, it's gonna be a good one! Gears is one of my most anticipated games next year, but U3 is on another level!

- Gears 1 was better than Uncharted 1 for me
- Uncharted 2 was way better than Gears 2 for me

Nice setting, I liked the other uncharteds but I do think they are a bit overhyped. Though as I stated, I really like the setting.

I think Sony said TLG will come out in 2011 for sure. As for Versus XIII, that's really up in the air lol.
