To me Uncharted 3 doesn't really look any better than Uncharted 2 (not that that is a bad thing). Even though I prefer Uncharted, I think Gears has had a bigger graphical leap.
Looked like a movie, so I have absolutely no interest in it what-so-ever. I wanna play a game, not have 1hr gameplay with the rest being QTEs and movie sequences.

Agreed, my playthrough of Demon's Souls was like watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand. All I did was press random buttons and watch, no gameplay whatsoever. :P

the jaggies have to go...uncharted 2 did not have that many....GOW3 had hardly any and that was well over a year ago years ago
Physics, graphics, animations, dialogues, humor, lighting effects, gameplay, pacing, action, soundtracks. I can go on and on. Everything in this game is perfect and its defo the GOTY I'm afraid to think, but this may be the greatest PS3 exclusive ever. Thank you Naughty Dog:)22kristian
What is this?
Looks a lot like Uncharted 2, which is definitely a good thing.
I agree. but this generation only... meaning uncharted 1-2 was a huge leap, gears 2-3 was a huge leap, and uncharted 3 and gears 3 end up around the same graphics level. To me Uncharted 3 doesn't really look any better than Uncharted 2 (not that that is a bad thing). The animations are superb and the voice acting is very impressive. But graphically it's way too overrated. I think some UE3 games on PC looks way better than this, such as Batman: AA and Mass Effect 2.
I can't judge the gameplay because I'm definitely not a fan of this kind of movie-like games. It's not something I'd enjoy playing, but I can see why people like Uncharted so much.
Personally, I find the UE3 engine to be wayy over rated. It seems like its almost impossible to make an artistically visually appealing game with the engine, as quite a few of UE3 games are too dark, very bland , visually boring, bleak, and just lack soul. Im sure there are exceptions, but that's usually when the developer completely over hauls the engine It's flag ship title Gears 3 looks really bland IMO and the animations are just so stiff and sluggish(very unnatural and slow) And that does seem to be the case with a lot of heavy centric UE3 games. I also hate the fact that the UE3 is so used by the industry. When 1 in every like 4 games is powered by UE3, it's annoying, and its like all the games start looking the same. The animations are superb and the voice acting is very impressive. They are wearing dozens of pounds of heavy armor :|
You expect them to move like Drake with all that armor?
Magna Carta 2 used the UE3 and it had great looking worlds with great animations. Its all up to the developer.
hahaha a ton of people soooo butthurt that Uncharted 3 looks better than Gears 3. trying to claim ownage about Gears 3 being better-looknig just because of anti-aliasing is just pathetic. hint: AA does not decide which one is better. art style, framerate, etc. all have equal footing. and by that Uncharted 3 looks much better than Gears 3. have fun with your plastic-looknig Unreal engine 3 graphics.

Don't get me wrong Gears 3 probably has good technical graphics , but its nothing that really stands out and its nothing that we haven't seen before graphically on consoles With how much Gears 3 is being hyped on the forums, I think that its over rated. So that's where I'm coming from. I just don't see the appeal to Gears graphics. It looks good like a lot of console games do, but like i already said its nothing that we haven't seen before on consoles, Gears 3 is also way too bland and it lacks color and has no soul in my honest opinionThe animations are superb and the voice acting is very impressive. errr that's exactly what I said. I'm sure you would have seen that if you had read ALL my post Why did you also quote one little part of my post so out of context? "I'm sure there are exceptions, but that's USUALLY when the developer completely over hauls the engine" Thanks. Oh and a lot of UE3 games have terrible animations, not just Gears 3. And regardless, if they are wearing armor, its a game, and even then , Gears 3 still controls like if they are wearing a couple tons of armour and not just a dozen pounds of armour[QUOTE="gameplaycontrol"]also the animations in Gears 3 are just so stiff, slow, unnatural, and sluggish. . navyguy21

P.s haha have you seen Marcus and Dom and the rest of the gang? Aren't they big bad macho marines buff'd out with muscles on top of muscles? So how is a dozen pounds of armour slowing them down so much and making them so sluggish? Maybe Marcus and the rest of the tool crew needs to go on some more steroids! To be able to carry that oh so impossible 12 pounds of armour. Looks like they just have beach muscles and not any functional strength[QUOTE="navyguy21"]?[QUOTE="gameplaycontrol"]also the animations in Gears 3 are just so stiff, slow, unnatural, and sluggish. . gameplaycontrol

Regardless, if they are wearing armor, its a game, and even the game.controls like if they are wearing a couple tons of armour i DID read ur post, im just pointing out ur errors. Magna Carta 2 didnt have a complete overhaul of the engine to achieve great animations. My point was that devs and spend the time to put better animations in UE3 games if they choose to. Its not the engine, its the dev. Also, gears does have some good animation considering they are wearing armor. Obviously you disagree, lets leave it at thatPlease Log In to post.
