[QUOTE="gameplaycontrol"][QUOTE="navyguy21"]?Magna Carta 2 used the UE3 and it had great looking worlds with great animations. Its all up to the developer.navyguy21errr that's exactly what I said. I'm sure you would have seen that if you had read ALL my post and not just quoted one little part to make your post look better. "I'm sure there are exceptions, but that's when the developer completelybover haul the engine" Thanks. Oh and a lot of UE3 games have stiff animations, not just Gears 3. Regardless, if they are wearing armor, its a game, and even the game.controls like if they are wearing a couple tons of armour i DID read ur post, im just pointing out ur errors. Magna Carta 2 didnt have a complete overhaul of the engine to achieve great animations. My point was that devs and spend the time to put better animations in UE3 games if they choose to. Its not the engine, its the dev. Also, gears does have some good animation considering they are wearing armor. Obviously you disagree, lets leave it at that Thr armour excuse doesn't work. Bad animations have been a staple of heavy centric UE3 games. And its very prevalent in Gears 3. Armour excuse or not But like I said there are exceptions however And unless you were the developer of Magna 2 you have no idea how much they hauled or didn't haul the engine originally.

ND prove once again that the PS3 produces interactive movies.
Wasn't awar that Little Big Planet, inFamous, Killzone, Demon's Souls, Resistance, God of War, Gran Torismo, and Valkyria Chronicles had anything to do with movies :O
So Uncharted, Heavy Rain, and Metal Gear Solid 4 end up having a lot of cinematic aspects to them, the whole PS3 library is filled with movie-esque games? lol, fail logic.
No its barely HD. Sony even hypes 1080p as Full HD. Full HD 1080p - Barely HD 720p720p is true HD?

lol People will never let it go. "Teh PS3 only makes movies, not teh gaemz"
Uncharted 1 and 2 both had plenty of gameplay, mixed with crazy action scenes where control was taken from the player. But you usually do get some form of control in these situations. I'd much prefer those set piece cinematic moments where some control is taken away over 200 rooms of...
Cover... shoot, cover, shoot, cover, shoot, cover shoot, cover, shoot, cover, shoot.
Turret section for 3 minutes
Cover, shoot, cover, shoot... 3 hours later
Vehicle driving section for 10 minutes
Cover, shoot, cover, shoot... 250 rooms later "Dom,I am tired of these dang rooms, why do these Locusts ambush us in every single room?"
Roll Credits.

The fact that the PS3 has games like that, proves my point. I never claimed it ONLY had them, did I?
Reading comprehension, buddy. Not to mention it was semi-sarcastic, in reponse to Heli's equally ridiculous post(If you read his the way you read mine) which assumes ALL PS3 are stunning cinematic experiances.
Looks really nice, but that's not hard when it's so linear and scripted.PernicioEnigmaLet me guess, your a gears fan? Its funny when people say this yet ignore how linear Gears is also. Not to go too off topic here. Gears is extremely linear. Your going from cover to cover taking out locuts ect and then its on to the next small arena and then your doing the same thing of popping and shooting again and again. Wouldn't you agree? Uncharted is of a less frustrating kind of linear, because of the fact its such a well thought out and well crafted game executed and polished to damn near perfection plus the fact that you do much more then just shoot But anyway, there should be no excuses. Uncharted 3 looks phenomenal Think about this, Gears has smaller levels then Uncharted and is just as linear, but in a bad way, so shouldn't Gears be able to pump out better graphics? There are no excuses for Uncharted 3 looking much better then Gears 3 and being a phenomenal looking game regardless

Newslflash: his post wasn't ridiculous. Yours wasI have to say that it looks legitimately amazing and a sure contender for GOTY, but I'm confident BF3 and Skyrim have a better shot. UC3 looks a lot like UC2 to me and I don't see much of a leap. More of the same isn't a bad thing if the "more" isn't utter crap, but it's certainly not GOTY material.
On a side note, it's truly impressive how far they're pushing the PS3 with this game - it looks like a movie but apparently nearly all of it is raw gameplay. That's what I find a bit amazing.

U3 will be a bigger improvement over its predecessor then Brotherhood was lol. Did you seriously make that comparison? It is Naughty Dog after all. They are often described as perfectionists Of course Battlefield 3 will be pushing technology forward. No one can disagree. It's on a powerful new super like computer engine lol. Battlefield is rightly being praised for its graphics As for Skyrim. I'm looking forward to that game so much. But what standard is it setting for the industry? It's gameplay looks to be the same as Oblivion, not a bad thing at all, just further refined, which is what Uncharted 3 is doing. Except Uncharted is making some big refinements and improvements as well. And I'm sure Skyrim will also. But in the end both Uncharted and Skyrim will be looking to improve upon its predecessor and add refinements.
totally disagree. Uncharted 3 has the best animations and graphics i've ever seen on a consoleLooks really good but Gears 3 edges it.

Wow really? Since when does 'TRUE HD' mean a very compressed Youtube video that isn't even 1080 but 720? That is barely HD and in my book is not. Not even 60 FPS. The game does look good, in fact really good. Though it will not look or run as well as BF3 on my PC, Uncharted 3 will be a great game. I might even play the MP for more than 5-6 hours this time (it's not that Uncharted 2 had bad MP, it's just that I hate using a gamepad for TPSs).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2ASMnZRdLs Physics, graphics, animations, dialogues, humor, lighting effects, gameplay, pacing, action, soundtracks. I can go on and on. Everything in this game is perfect and its defo the GOTY I'm afraid to think, but this may be the greatest PS3 exclusive ever. Thank you Naughty Dog:)22kristian

I was just making the point that when devs have so much control over what the player sees and where they can go they can spend a lot of time making a small area look pretty. It DOES look pretty though, no doubt about that. Also, the animations are quite impressive, it would have been difficult to get all the different animations to flow as realistically as they do. My problem with this kind of game is while being highly cinematic, it come at the cost of freedom, which - at least for me - is what games are all about. This probably isn't as much of a problem for people who enjoy multi-player, but I'm more of a single player guy, and I like to replay the SP campaign and experience it in a different way. I don't know where you got the idea I was a gears fan. I'm not here to mindlessly bash one console in favour of the other. I quite doing that a long time ago thank god...

It won awards for nearly every single aspect of gaming that you can think of. So to say that without the level of animations that it contains that it wouldn't get any praise, your a totally clueless gamer or just a jealous butt hurt lemming. You should really grow up yourself The fact that the Uncharted series has the best animations in the industry bar none is the icing to the already awesome cake that Naughty Dog made and has been making. Uncharted 3 hasn't even come out yet, but its already looking improved from Uncharted 2. Every single gameplay video released has been money. Uncharted 3 is looking just amazing Also, to be honest, Uncharted is not like Tomb Raider. There can be some similarities, but what Uncharted 2 did do it did amazingly so it doesn't matter, but it also added its own unique flavor to the mix as well setting itself apart. No matter everything was polished up to damn near perfection. Uncharted 2 was simply stunning If anything I'd say that Uncharted is like the NFL to the tomb raiders(and Gears)AFL P.s but really don't even compare Gears 3 directly to Uncharted 3 like that. That's a total disservice to Uncharted 3 and an insult.

Fair enough:) I can respect your opinion. I actually love to have that extreme "freedom" as well, but only when its done right. Just like how on occasions I might want to play a cinematic gameplay experience but also only when its done right. There have been some truly terrible open world games that have turned me away from the genre and vice versa But when a game like Uncharted comes along and does its genre right and executes all its mechanics to damn near perfection and is a genuine master piece then there's no problem I guess im saying that it depends on the game. And as a gamer I like having different options and not being stuck with playing the same halo, gears, call of duty clones year in and year out. Some days I might just want to sit back and play an Uncharted 2 over everything else and over an oblivion or a fall out And then on other days I might want to play that oblivion or fall out It's good to have those options. Both Uncharted and Skyrim will be the absolute BEST of their respective genre and that's a good thing for gamers with different tastes and that might feel like playing one on one day then another the next day. I mean the puzzle genre might seem stupid but when a fantastic puzzle game comes along with flawless mechanics people take notice. Just like how Uncharted is one of those classic master pieces that transcends it all And if you think about it. Every game is linear to some extent. They need to be to have direction and an end goal to keep the player striving towards

Lol Uncharted is an action adventure game. Get your facts straight And Uncharted has more meaning then all those games. Because the game does a great job of making you care about the story, its characters, and all its big epic set pieces and ensuing gameplay Its a controlled adventure that takes you for the ride of your life. It has meaning, substance, a start and an end goal. Its satisfying. The game never drags on and is paced so well, almost perfectly. Uncharted is amazing, its a cinematic adventure experience. P.s its funny because i hardly ever stay interested in a game long enough to finish it. I just can't stay in the house for more then several hours doing nothing. I always have to be doing something. but Uncharted was one of the first games that managed to truly hook me. I beat it and was so satisfied. In fact I beat it 2x more and loved it both times and every second of the way. First time I bought it, I played it for like 4 hours straight, and that's something that I've never done with a freaking video game lol. I was so engrossed that I totally lost track of time[QUOTE="mitu123"]No its barely HD. Sony even hypes 1080p as Full HD. Full HD 1080p - Barely HD 720p720p is true HD?

So do you think 1080p will be "true hd" when another resolution is announced? 720p is full HD. Heck even 480p is true HD. Im not sure if people here even know this but im gonna throw it out there..MOST people dont even have 720p yet. So the industry can keep moving up with resolution all it wants. People arent giving a ratsars about it. AND in this economy, im not carrying any myself to keep up.
