Uncharted 3 wins over 20 award nominations at E3 2011

Don't get me wrong, Uncharted 3 does look great :P The problem however is, Uncharted 3 had a weak showing compared to Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2's was surprising, the graphics looked more impressive (for the time they were shown), and the action was something unseen before. The Uncharted 3 demo was unsurprising, and the trailer was somewhat lacking in content as well. I just think others deserve the award more this year.

Anyway E3 is more about who had the best demo, not the best game. An Award here does not mean squat about the final product. Just look at Scribblenauts.

You might be right in the surprise factor I guess. I think for me I just know how awesome its going to be, so I might be thinking about the game rather than its showing at E3. I would still put it up there with the best at E3, but yes the showing of a few others were perhaps a bit better ;).

It will be a tough year for UC3 to win. I really would like them to win again. But I would also like BF3 to win. I tend to give credit where given

Yea but if you notice the graphics were covered up by the lighting, and the textures were mediocre at best.

and gaming journalism continues to disapoint me... I don't want Uncharted to become the goal for any genre of gaming. It's harmful to the industry IMO. Becoming more like movies and taking control away from the player is a horrible trend right now and it never gets punished the way it should. I think video game journalism should reward games for outstanding gameplay not cinematic flourish.

It's gameplay and control that seperates video games from other mediums sogames should be rewardedfor playing totheir strengths.

To me, Uncharted 2 was a 7.5/10 GAME (the actual game part of it was rather mediocre) and Uncharted 3 hasn't shown me anything outside of impressivewater effects to make me think it will be any better.

As much like uncharted 1 and 2 it doesn't deserve them IMO.

It is absolutely up there. I wasn't that impressed when I initially saw the Fire Level demo a few months back, but seeing it this time around completely blew me away. Also a side note but I think Prey 2 deserves a lot of attention too, a bit under the radar but looks awesme. Like a Mirrors Edge/Blade Runner hybrid using Resistance type weapons. Gametrailers has an exclusive gameplay clip if anyone is interested in checking it out. TruestGamer

Not to get too off topic, but thanks for telling me about the Prey 2 interview. The game look awesome! I hope it stays that way.

As much like uncharted 1 and 2 it doesn't deserve them IMO.

Since I've never been wrong before concerning GOTY and other various awards since 2005, you all can trust me here :P. Uncharted 3 will win GOTY at Gamespot this year. It's just the way the story goes.

It's hard to top the sequel to the Dark Knight of gaming. But if Nughty Dog succeeds, look for another sweeper with Uncharted 3. Hate it or love it, or just simply like it. Whatever the case, Uncharted 3 will be momentous.

Starcraft 2 last year. That should've won.

And Uncharted 3 won't win. It didn't win with Demon Souls in 2009, it won't win with Dark Souls in 2011 :P The Witcher 2 has my vote this year so far.

Uncharted 2 hands down, not even close to a competition lol. Seriously, Demons Souls?! I think the game is very overrated (I beat it and sold it), but whatever :P.

The E3 nominations given to Uncharted 3 are well deserved, but I wasn't totally blown away by the presentation, like OMG (maybe I HYPEd it too much). They definitely showed something cool and unexpected. I've never seen water flow into a ship and change the environment traversal like it did there. It was something new. I think I was just expecting some huge explosive set piece :P. Looking back at it, it was smart to show what they did.
