Those "oddities" they discovered are temporal reconstruction, it's residual data from previous frames still being drawn, just like I said....
Looks great and seems to run smoothly. I guess it's a matter of preference but the general presentation seems too cartoonish for my taste. I like how the missions are more open, yet I'm guessing the levels won't be as multi-layered as in Rise of the Tomb Raider. Curious to play it, clearly ND will expand on some of tLoU ideas, I just hope the gameplay is of better quality.
not a fan of the "ready brek" style glowing outlines on enemies, but the game is looking good.
You can turn those off, you're in luck,
I think there is way too much focus on graphics. This over reliance has caused a change in priority and it has been the detriment of many games. All of the subtitles are nice but they add very little if anything to the gameplay. Beyond my annoyance of this focus on graphics the gameplay shown in the video looks very promising.
Looks amazing.... very impressed with the tiny amount of pop-in there is too considering the amount of grass and things that have to be drawn.
They also seem to have aded some nice touches to the gameplay too.
Damn this game looks great.
Indeed! Finally the games are pushing the hardware to the max..
I really do hope not, if that's as much as a PS4 can do they really do need a PS4.5.
Nope, as long as games look and perform better than previous gen, I'm fine and they are.
@Heil68: Don't get me wrong here, Uncharted 4 looks fantastic but I'd like to think there is still something left in the PS4's tank.
usually games get better looking as gen progresses. But with the price point of console, I dont ever expect to see a huge gap in fidelity like we seen in past gens.
Looks really impressive, i wasn't expecting quite such a jump in level size, i like how the pop-in seems to be limited well as that can be an immersion breaker.
I'm guessing the outlines and yellow marker indicates an enemy awareness system for stealth gameplay. It's probably important for gameplay but i hope they include the option to turn it off.

It depends just how much of a difference asynchronous compute makes, I remember Cerny seemed to be banking on it giving the console legs in press conferences around launch and it's only been used in a handful of games like BF4 and InFamous thus far. It's use should become more mainstream as DX12 gets used more on PC which should hopefully highlight it to devs more for the PS4. I'm guessing ND will use it already though so who knows.
He's a quote from Tomorrow Children's devs:
"On a 33.333 ms frame, we saved roughly 6ms by using the async compute pipes. Thats where the 18% comes from. Those savings went up to 10ms on our stress test level. Really if you’re working on a AMD GCN GPU, I can’t recommend looking into async compute enough!"
So around 30% increase in some particularly high load circumstances that most devs haven't even touched and it'll stack with the usual efficiency improvements that come over a generation. Plus there could be further resources freed up in the future via reductions in the OS footprint so there should be some wiggle room.
Everything from this point on looks fantastic, ND is gonna go all out with this last Uncharted game and I been very impress what I have seen so far.

That goes double for me. I'm not looking for raw graphics, as long as the game is fun, I'm all good.
BTW, I like the sig Heil, never came to my mind comparing Shadow Fall to QB.
