Uncharted 4 vs Gears of War 5: Which game is more fun to play?

If I was forced to play one of them, I'd choose Gears 5.

Is comparing these two games like comparing apples and oranges?

I haven't played Gears 5, only the original trilogy. Gunplay wise Gears series are infinitely better, it's not even close, but Uncharted is more about slow paced exploration and story, which i also love.

So assuming Gears 5 is as good as 1, 2, and 3, i'll go with that.

I'm replaying Uncharted 4 again and it holds up as not only a fantastic game but my favorite game of the gen. It's not without its faults though and they are all in the multiplayer side. It took them a year to give us a half assed co-op arena. We never got co-op adventure mode which was incredible in the 2nd and 3rd games. One could say that when it came to the 4th's multiplayer, Naughty Dog screwed the pooch.

Actually pretty close for me. Gears 5 has better core action mechanics and overall pacing (even though the pacing isn't amazing).

UC4 I enjoyed the story and set pieces more. More variety than Gears 5 but some pretty poor pacing in spots.

I think I'd give a slight nod to UC4 but its pretty much a toss up. enjoyed both overall.

What was new in Uncharted 4? The grapling hook, was that it?

Gears 5, by a landslide. It had actual game play.

I couldn't finish either game tbh... both were boring. And that had a lot to do with the semi-open world parts of the games that were completely unnecessary.

UC4 was a complete disappointment and frankly a snooze fest. That Scotland level WTF? I found the Lost Legacy far more exciting.

UC1-2-3 were phenomenal

I’ve played Gears 5 at a cousin ‘s house and didn’t seem that exciting. I felt the cover system didn’t work well like what’s the point finding cover? But I didn’t go too far into the game since I lost interest but played a little MP which was ok.

So I guess both were boring in SP but Gears has a very slight edge in MP.

depends on the situation. Single player experience, Uncharted. Coop, Gears 5.

I imagine Gears 5 has stronger legs to stand on with its online features, Horde especially, and the competitive MP. And a really good co-op campaign. It's a full package. It's also a much more gratifying shooter.

UC4 was so so dull

You always found Gears mediocre, but you enjoyed Uncharted 1. :-S

Uncharted 1 is the only one I played, and I can only hope they improved the gameplay for the second one.

I liked Gears 5. Xbox didn't have a lot of great AAAs that didn't involve a car last gen so it was a standout. It wasn't quite as good as UC4 though.

UC 1 is easily the worst of the bunch, it has aged horribly.

Edit: I enjoyed the Vita game more.
