Its a floptastic day. Kinda sucks though as I was hoping one would get AAA and one get AA and this board would explode but as it is it is a push. No onewon or lost. Both games flopped (even though thy are both great games) here at SW and the world keeps turning. One thing is for sure now however and that is GOTY is Crysis, Halo 3 or SMG.jbeen

GOTY isnt decided by review score. The review score is only one editors opinion.

On the bad list for Uncharted the major reason the game lost points was because the enemies are intelligent, can be plentiful and can kill you...That seems like a pretty bad reason to dock points. I can practically hear "boohoo, when i get shot i die". Realistic graphics, realistic character i guess.

Uncharted is not a flop. Unless I am mistaken, it was hyped AA.z_gaming_master

except im not a lemming. Ive never agreed with alot of gamespot reviews, ever since Jeff gave MGS an 8.5.

Well 2 flos on one day can make anyone laugh..

Kinda unbelivable how many titles that gets AAA on gamerankings and fails on gamespot though.. Well uncharted is only AA on gamerankings aswell so I guess tat should be ignored, but other games such as metroid prime and TP, feels weird too me atleast.

They've been going by Jeff's guide lines for a while now. Didn't stop 360 from getting a good number of AAAs this year, didn't stop SMG from getting AAA. My guess is simply that Mass Effect didn't live up to the expectations of the reviewer, had nothing to do with Jeff. It's still a great game and considering all the other top notch games 360 got this year, there isn't much to complain about. Also, when you look back at Jade Empire's review, it's not a surprise that ME didn't reach AAA levels. I thought the game would be AAA but like JE it just fell short.

For system wars purposes, sure it fell short. But in the real world, its one of the best games ever made. It will probably be honoured as such, ala system shock 2. A flawed masterpiece is still a masterpiece, but gamespot wont give AAA to a flawed masterpiece.

Ah, so low expectations save the ps3 of another flop. I guess that will make cows feel better. I guess it is easy to understand why cows are so gun shy of giving games AAA hype though.

I think both games deserve higher scores. I don't care if you think it's a flop or not and I certainly don't care about hype threads or how many A's they got but both games are better than the GS scores make them out to be. Oh well, what can you do?donnygorgas

Play and love the games, review scores shouldnt stop people from enjoying games.

Maybe it's because we know it's not AAA material. I didn't realise it was only cows that could post in the PS3 hype threads... Oh well, as long as it didn't flop I suppose.

Fair point. All I know is, the game was my most anticipated 360 game going into the year and I'm really looking forward to picking it up later. A 8.5 from GS isn't going to ruin the experience for me.
