Uncharted and Heavenly Sword: The best looking new IPs?

I remember when we first got the lineups for PS3/360/Wii and many gamers worldwide complained that there weren't any good looking new IPs but the scenario has changed now, and all 3 consoles have some very interesting IPs coming.

I think the standout for Wii is definitely No More Heroes, it looks fantastic so far and I have high hopes for it. 360 has Alan Wake which (imo) is the best looking IP for the system, although I know many love Mass Effect too.

Now, I'm just talking exclusive IPs, but do you guys think anything stands up to Uncharted and Heavenly Sword for the PS3?

Can't wait to play these games. I'm glad we're actually getting some decent IPs although I am obviously looking forward to sequels of games like MGS, FF, GTA, Halo, SSB, GT etc.

Seen all of them, and all look good, but I'm most excited about Uncharted I gotta say.

Among the best. Because Mass Effect and Bioshock are fighting for the number 1 spot IMO. :D If graphics matter than of course Crysis. waynehead895

Forgot about Crysis. I still have weird feelings about the game but the fact that it's coming from Crytek should mean an excellent game. 

Mass Effect and Too Human for 360.
Disaster and No More Heroes for the Wii.
Personally if i ranked these six it would go
1- Too Human
2-Uncharted
3- Mass Effect
4- No more Heros
5- Disaster
6- Heavenly Sword
All 6 will be awesoem new ips. Although i think HS will score higher than probably Disaster and No more Heroes, I think i will enjoy disaster and no more heroes more.

Mine too. A tsunami and terrorist attacks hit the homeland. That game looks good and it's kind of scary that it could happen.

Yeah, I do mean unreleased games.

Since I really doubt any new IP will compare as well to Gears, 9.6/10 GOTY 2006. Fantastic game.

Forget about WKS and LO, both also look great. Very unique artstyles.

I agree. They both have the graphics to have the potential for good score here at Gamespot.

Sorry for going off topic but this sentence just got to me, i remember back in the day when Far Cry was about to be released i'd seen pics of it everywhere, and it looked amazing for the time, but when i got my hands on the game, the graphics were awesome, but the gameplay was mediocre at best. I honestly could only stomach about 2 or 3 hours of the game before i shelved it.

So we all know Crysis looks amazing but is there any reason to believe its not just another graphical showcase (like Far Cry) with mediocre gameplay?

Of course this is all just my opinion, and i'm not attacking you i just dont share your opinion about Crytek.

My thoughts exactly, but believe me, we are the minority with that opinion.

I think Crysis has sublime graphics but nothing about the game looks interesting to me. I suppose it has the potential to be great though so I'm not going to deem the game to be a flop with no evidence.

I did enjoy Far Cry for a solid amount of time though, so I may like Crysis too.

Sorry but Blue Dragon is a flop among JRPG's. What makes you think a game that flopped in Japan is going to sell on the other side of the pond? If its not popular and doesnt have any hype, it wont sell, simple as that. The only people who seem to be talking about it are you lemmings on the forums, I dont know a single soul who has heard of Blue Dragon or Lost Oddysey nor does anyone seem to care.

Agreed, i cant wait for Blue Dragon, and i'll be getting it no matter what score it gets or how much it sells, also i've heard nothing but great things about it from friends who have imported it. 

Like I said, if a game doesnt sell well, it isnt going to be popular, thats just the way things work. A game can have high scores and still sell poorly, thats the way it worked with Blue Dragon and has happened to a few other games in the past as well like Pokemon which has never been AAA yet still sells like crazy based on popularity alone. So regardless of what reviewers think, sales and hype matter more then scores. And with JRPG's, Japan basically is the king of the genre and if games dont go over well in their home country, they wont be very popular overseas.DSgamer64

The ones that aren't on Xbox 360.

I like all sorts of games, I just would rather not buy the mediocre ones that arent very popular. I mean in 2 years no one is going to remember Blue Dragon, not to mention its not being made by a very well known developer (at least not to casuals). Also Blue Dragon's graphics may look good but the art style lacks textures and detail, much like Dragon Quest 8 does and that kind of art is not very appealing, but then again neither are the Dragon Ball cartoons.

Seriously, I see far more games in the 360 lineup worth gettling like Call of Juarez, Lost Oddyssey (looks pretty cool), BioShock and Too Human. I would try to stay away from KotoR clones like Mass Effect and shooters with auto aim like Halo.

so i guess if too human and bioshock and call of juarez dont sell well it will be medicore , and in 2 years i will be the one to remember Blue Dragon and thats the only thing that matters because people around here arent going to be playing the game with me and people here arent going to be the ones dieing with me so if im the only who will care about this game so be it.

I agree with that, but I feel the same about games like Motorstorm and Resistance. Games like Crackdown and Kameo are beautiful though. I love the art of both games.

I just dont get heavenly sword.  Screenshots look decent but the game does not.  Of course I cant know that for sure, its just that as soon as there's a sex sell, art is ruined.  You should not be staring at your character's asss.  The game looks like a medieval tomb raider, with maybe a bit deeper gameplay.

Huxley aint looking too bad.

Heavenly Sword looks great but we barely know anything about it. Drake is nothing more then a Pitfall version of Gears of War and shopuld do pretty well. Mass Effect is coming from a dev with several AAA games under its belt. 

Personally I think Heavnly Sword is going to blow and be nothing more then a wannabe GoW while Drake gets AAA and becomes best PS3 game of 07.

I dont no about all of u but this trailer is prolly the best trailer ive ever seen so far, and makes me want this game more then any game out there, I mean its so good that u can put it up against even the best games out like gears. Just the action and gameplay and the beauty of this game easilly makes it one of the biggest new IP's out there. Out of all the new IP's I think its safe to say that this game gameplay wise and graphically together is the most impressive new IP out of the bunch. Just look at the video and if u aint impressed then I dont know what is, gamplay wise and graphically.

IP= intellectual property examples include Mario, Sonic, Spiderman, Superman, etc. Basically some character or image that's owned by a company and exploited in the godless capitalist system. Uncharted and Heavenly Sword are examples of "unproven" IP's because they have only been shown in demo form.JiveT
