[QUOTE="Element00216"][QUOTE="numba1234"][QUOTE="Element00216"]Why does it matter? "OMG TEH GRAPHICS ARE SO GREAT NOW PLAY THIS GAME!" Graphics mean jack when they pass a certain thresh-hold.
Sorta reminds me when Halo 3 was revealed to be 640p. Do you know what the population on XBOX Live went to when this was discovered? It went from one million to one million. Nobody cares. If it looks decent enough to not be distracted in a bad way, then graphics really don't mean a thing.

Graphics do matter. Why do people hype games up in the fps genre. It isn't like there are different enemies, different vehicles, or different ai. It is usually because one fps looks better graphically then another. Why did cod4 get all this hype? What was so great about it besides its graphics?
No they don't. Unless there is something distracting about the graphics that take away from gameplay, all it manages to do is draw a user in. Gameplay does the same, and in the end, is the defining experience.
It happened when I got the 360 at launch. At first I was amazed by the graphics. It was a whole new world. Then after a few days, I stopped noticing them. The great graphics didn't change the fact that it was a last-gen game with a new face. Unless of course that you're willing to argue that the XBOX was superior to the PS2 and all of its games simply because it could render a better looking picture.
The difference between xbox, and ps2 was miniscule because it was unable to render visuals to reality. The fact is, the games that sell the highest aren't because of the gameplay, but because of the graphic capacity. Why the heck did cod3 sell more then cod2? COD3 wasn't the better game, but because the graphics were closer to reality more people bought it. People can't know what the gameplay is like from a trailer. The first hype comes from 1.the developer 2. The concept of the game 3. the graphics. Look at many games. For instance psn/xbla games usually are a blast to play, but why do they get lower scores, because they aren't graphically up bar with the 60 $ games. Look at some games. For example, prototype, and infamous aren't hyped besides its ambigious is because of the graphics. There concept and gameplay should be amazing, but graphics are very important for hype.
You're right. Halo 3 sold 6 million copies because it's the BEST game on the market obviously. Spore got its hype from its AMAZING graphics. Lair was AMAZING because of its graphics. Please.
Seriously, your trying to argue a moot point. Fact is after the first few times you play, graphics take a far back seat to gameplay. You can argue against it all you want, but you're wrong. And the difference between PS2 and the XBOX is greate than the PS3 and the 360.
