What's this, you say?  A game being released on a Sony platform does not look as good as first advertised?

AMAZING!  This sets a precedent!

So Halo 3 looks like crap, based on those pictures we have seen or maybe those pictures were from early development? Hmm, fanboy logic is amazing.

The truth is Halo 3 will look MUCH better than screenshots we have seen by now, this game and many other in the future will look better when they reach final stage of development. And actually i think new pictures look more detailed.

Finally someone using his brain.

The game has not been downgraded.

Firstly, the Game Informer shots are work in progress shots. And they are not even to the right resolution.

Secondly, the 'new' jungle pictures were actually old shots being displayed at a game art exhibition. It was intended for art and demonstrative purposes only.

Lastly, the E3 footage was real-time. You could even see some jaggies, see the normal mapping on the rocks at work, and see the physics when the car hit the destructible boxes. But of course that is a trailer and will have been worked on to its maximum potential. Trailers are made much differently from that of games since everything is finalised on the spot. The game however is made in stages like pre-alpha, alpha, beta etc. as was shown with Halo 3's and Metal Gear Solid 4's apparent 'downgrade'.

Please, learn how game development works before ever using the word downgrade again.

People who are saying the new screens look better or the same are huge fanboys or they are blind.

This is a damn huge difference, look at the awesome environment in the 1st picture, the 2nd has nothing on it and so does the character, if you look at the new 3d picture you can see how plastic looks the new character model.

That's not a downgrade. Naughty Dog is a top tier studio, They've never made a bad looking game.

But I'm not sure why lemmings would want to bash on Naughty Dog. Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin (owners) have said that they like the 360 more than the PS3 and they'd make games on it once their contract finishes with Sony.WildTurkey00
