Uncharted games are too similar to Tomb Raider. They're okay for one play through and then they get traded back in at Gametop. The MP is barely passable. Plus, Lara Croft has a nicer ass than Nate Drake.

No I don't agree with you TC. In my opinion there are dozens maybe hundreds of games that are better than Uncharted (any of them)

There;s 4 Uncharted games and only 1 is great. It's merely a good series, nothing more.

I mean 2 of the games aren't good either, so even calling it a good series is probably incorrect.

3 games so far, only one good game to show for it.

Uncharted was a trailblazer as far as making action oriented movie games and it set an industry standard but I hardly consider the series to be at the top of the game, Max Payne 3 for instance owns the Uncharted series in having a far better story and gameplay mechanics and its character animations were better too.

Granted I think this production value arms race has reached an inevitable end as far as people willing to compete, with Uncharted 4 around the corner I think the series is ready to take its place at the top.

In terms of graphics and art style, not bad...

In terms of gameplay? Not even close.

Uncharted is amateur compared to nintendo and sega games that are even 30 years old.

I really liked The Last Of Us in the way I like a good movie or reading a story with good characters in it. As as a game it was good, as an experience it was great. I raise this comparison as most people consider this game to be ND's finest work. I don't agree.

I am playing through the Uncharted Collection now (currently on 2) and I can say hand on heart it reminds me constantly why I love videogames. it's pure fun with great characters and a throwaway but serviceable story.

It beats watching Mario jump up and down all day and is much better than The Last Of Us as a GAME experience so yes I would say it sets a high standard for people who like games but dullards who naturally gravitate towards games designed for small children (Nintendo) or feebs who gain immense satisfaction from 'games' where you don't do anything at all (Telltale) or people who somehow think the industry marching backwards in terms of technology and blatantly ripping off games from the 80s (the hipster indie clowns) will never appreciate Uncharted so the TC is probably wasting his time here.

Not the best games ever but Uncharted 2 especially is just incredible fun which so many people forget was the whole fucking point of videogames in the first place.

It executes certain things incredibly well that are ancillary to what makes a good game good.

Series better than Uncharted:

Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Super Smash Bros., Final Fantasy, Persona, Halo, Street Fighter, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Age of Empires, Half Life, Diablo, Starcraft, SimCity, Mass Effect, Batman: Arkham, Grand Theft Auto.

This is just off the top of my head. Uncharted is a good series, nothing more. It wouldn't even enter Top 20 on an all time list.

Exactly. /thread

Uncharted is a good series, but that's it. I only played Uncharted 1 & 2. I couldn't stand the shooting mechanics, it sucked. But Nathan Drake was a cool guy. I liked The Last of Us much better.

UC2 and UC3 can remain in the conversation. UC: Drake's Fortune was, at the time, a 7 at best and it has only gotten worse.

I take it the PS4 is your first gaming console?

It's colorful and eye candy, but personally their best series was Crash Bandicoot, because I had fun playing those, unlike Uncharted.

Crash Bandicoot series is their Gold Standard for me. Including Crash Team Racing. Tons of fun and countless hours spent playing those games.

Uncharted is beautiful to look at, but I couldn't bother finishing any of the series.
