i think its common knowledge the PS3 can't handle textures as well as the 360... good old memory bottleneck.

don't believe me? read dev comments, read the dev that posted in SW about R6V2 being held back on both versions because of PS3 and Sony pressuring them to hold back 360 version so it doesn't look noticeably better.

i can't believe that 2 years after launch some people still think the PS3 can handle higher res textures :P multiplat after multiplat says no. MGS4 having bad textures says no. Polyphony having to keep the backgrounds low on detail says no.

what will it take :P

Crysis with DX10 looks better. Uncharted in consoles is the best graphical piece. But if you add PC, Gears and CoD4 and Crysis on MAX+DX10 are better.

Oh, wow... I haven't seen this sort of reasoning in a long time. It doesn't work like that though. 7 cores are not always greater than 4 cores, XDR RAM is not better in all ways, and a video card from 2 generations ago is not greater than what is currently available.

Sweet, you should invite everyone from SW over sometime...But seriously, I've got my PS3 sitting right next to my 360, and my Wii on a different shelf. I'm not gonna say the PS3 is a piece of crap; I've got a 60 gig, so I play Persona 3 on it a lot, and I'm not going to diss on the PS3 library, but it doesn't appeal to me the way the 360's does. And just because I don't think Uncharted's crayola-crayon palette is as graphically impressive as Mass Effect or Gears doesn't mean I don't own one; it's my blu-ray player, and it's a hell of a blu-ray player. I also fully expect MGS4 to be as impressive as pretty much any game on any of the consoles, so it's not like I'm biased against "PS3 graphix". I just don't really get why so many people are so sure Uncharted looks the best. But I guess that's the beauty of opinions.

Crysis is superior to uncharted in just about everyway. Uncharted is a movie/game hybrid and an average one if it was only a game than it would be A at best and if it was a movie it would've been A at best. Overall you get a decent mix worthy of AA, but still nothing to brag about.

it ssoooo lame that cows can't own up to the fact that some people gave up on the PS3 already.. sorry it didn't live up to the hype for me. i'm sorry i gave up on the system you try so hard to justify / support.

I think Gran Turismo 5 is the best looking console game. GT5 has no art style, so it gets no help there because it's a simulator.

Uncharted's art style helps make that game look better. Gran Turismo 5 looks better with no art style at all.

i've personally never hammered GT5p for it's graphics. anyone that thinks any of the current gen racers look BAD is just being a bit fanboyish imo. there are some jaggie and screen tearing issues, but some excellent games suffer from that.. just a fact of next gen gaming unfortunately.

my issue with GT5 is the actual gameplay, i don't like the way it feels / the handling / driving physics. maybe i'm spoiled by Forza in that respect... i still enjoy playing it, but it just bothers me Polyphony calls it a simulator when they don't go to nearly the same lengths Forza devs do to make it an accurate and realistic driving experience.

end of story, both look great, all have their strengths and flaws. just find forza to feel a bit more real as far as the driving goes - and i don't mean it as an insult, both play great.. just prefer Forza in that respect.
