Unike the PS2, the WIi is helping to grow the industry.

Sony pulled in casuals with the PS2 mainly because it was a cheap DVD player... Sony forgot that with the PS3 when they stuffed a Blu-ray player that few people care about at the moment.TDLlama

You mean all accept people that have good jobs and can afford expensive hardware. But hey one they maybe you get there to.

PS2 took the casual gamer and brought them UP to the real gamer level. Got them playing God of War, Jak and Daxter,Ratchet and Clank and countless other games.

Wii takes the casual gamer and panders to them. It lowers itself to their moronic level. "Oh look an exercise game. Oh look sports with motion." Instead of tricking them into playing awesome games it sells them crap.

The only major difference is th Nintendo decided to include an actual practicle gaming application (motion sensing) as opposed to Sony who just said 'ok we'll allow you to watch movies when you aren't gaming.' Sega underestimated this with the Dreamcast and lost. Nintendo decided to appeal to gamers and gained the casual market where Sony decided to appeal to casuals and gained the gamer market...
